National Baby-Led Weaning Day 💛

Baby-led weaning gives children the opportunity to explore food independently, helping to build confidence, support fine motor development and encourage a positive relationship with food from the very start.

We know that every family's weaning journey is different. That's why we take time during the settling-in process to understand each family's preferences and chosen approach. Whether parents opt for baby-led weaning, purées or a combination of both, it's always led by parental choice, with our nursery teams there to provide support every step of the way.

Through close partnerships with families, we create positive mealtime experiences where children can safely explore a variety of tastes and textures at their own pace. As they do, they're developing independence, self-confidence and important skills that support their wider learning and development.

🌱 Eco‑Schools: Healthy Living in Our Nursery 🌱
Our children have been busy getting their hands dirty and learning all about healthy living and growing food!
Across the nursery, the children took part in planning and planting a variety of seeds, including 🍅 tomatoes, 🥕 carrots, 🥔 potatoes, 🌱 cress, and 🌿 runner beans. They helped prepare the soil, plant the seeds, water them, and are enjoying watching them grow.
This hands‑on experience supported children’s development in so many ways: ✨ Building fine and gross motor skills while planting and watering
✨ Developing language through new vocabulary and shared conversations
✨ Learning where food comes from and how plants grow
✨ Encouraging teamwork, patience, and responsibility
✨ Supporting wellbeing through outdoor learning and time in nature
Growing our own food has also helped children develop a positive attitude towards healthy eating, with many showing curiosity and excitement about fruits and vegetables they have grown themselves.
We are so proud of the care and enthusiasm the children have shown as they nurture their plants and learn how looking after the environment helps keep us healthy too 💚

Today, many of our preschool children found out which primary school they’ll be starting this September - such a special milestone in their journey. 🎒

We are incredibly proud of every single one of them and can’t wait to continue supporting them as they prepare for this exciting next chapter. A big well done to all our soon‑to‑be school starters!
