"Student's Review: I have been tutored by Simon for 2 years and he is a very good teacher and always made the lessons enjoyable. He is also great at explaining topics. He goes through questions carefully and ensures that I understand the method of how to solve the problem. If ever I struggled to understand a certain topic he would break it down and make it simpler to understand. The lessons also contained enjoyable puzzles and games to have a bit of a break from some of the heavier maths. The lessons with Simon helped me to get a very good GCSE maths grade and this has allowed me to go onto study A levels.

"What a wonderful tutor! My daughter had 2 ½ months tuition with Simon before retaking her Maths GCSE in the hope of upping her grade from a 4 to a 5 and my goodness, it was worth every penny. Simon is an excellent tutor and I would highly recommend him. He has a very pleasant and patient personality and is very thorough and dedicated. He gave my daughter homework every week, which he marked and he then went through it with her in the lessons, spending time on anything she didn't understand or wasn't sure of. “As a Maths tutor, we would highly recommend Simon Hirst. His rapport with our son is excellent, his lessons are totally engaging and tailored to his individual needs. For us, Simon has worked with some of the feedback we supplied from school on topics where weaknesses were present. Simon has focused and planned lessons around these areas. In each lesson, Simon always checks his tutoring is to the appropriate level of challenge. Another thing we like very much, is the way Simon will do a recap at the start of each new lesson on the previous lessons topic for our son. This works really well to help with consolidation.
