We teach Shotokan Karate under the auspices of the Hawkes family. Our Seniors have trained with some of the very best of Instructors. We hold regular seminars and the local Instructors are qualified Kyu Grade Examiners so grading locally is a regular occurrence. We also have classes else where in the area and offer many opportunities for you to develop in your Karate.

Friday the 27th Feb saw Jay Sensei, assisted by Archie, Matthew and Michael, run a self defence session and introduction to Shotokan Karate with the Dartside Explorers in South Brent.
Basic techniques were shown and tried by the group, along with some self defence break aways and pad work. We also had a discussion around what self defence is and about being proportionate if using self defence and ensuring that the juice is worth the squeeze (a phone, bike or watch is not more valuable than someone’s health and wellbeing)

Karate in Ivybridge on Friday night with Mark Sensei and Rach Sensei.

Both groups worked on Kata, conditioning and partner drills. The classes were also given a refresher on Regi Saho (etiquette within the Dojo)
