So it’s here, my last day as a childminder. It’s been a wonderful five years getting to know all of your children and having the pleasure of looking after them. Thank you to Pip, Cody and Daiya for your generous gifts today and to Harry and Dillon, Nellie and Lottie for your lovely gifts at the end of term. The children and I are going to miss each and every one of you immensely but we are looking to seeing you all on play dates and I can’t wait to cuddle new little miss Foster when she arrives.

My penultimate childminding week has been a busy one! On Monday we went to Paignton Zoo for a last visit to see the animals. 🐒🐯🐘🦍Over the past five years this has been one of our favourite places to go - it was a bit of a pity that it was so busy. On Tuesday we went to see the steam trains at Buckfastleigh. 🚂On Wednesday we went to the allotment and picked some enormous courgettes. 🌱🌽🥕We also visited Ermington park which has got to be a new favourite place to go. Today we braved the mist and rain to drive over the moor to Buckland Abbey. ⛪️It was lovely and quiet (just as I hoped!) and a great way to end the working week. Just three more childminding days to go…

The end of the first week of the summer holiday and we have: visited Buckfast Abbey (accidentally arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm ⛈ 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️); played in the park; signed up to the summer reading challenge in the library; got muddy digging up potatoes at our allotment; visited Hill House Nursery; and made Olympics inspired paintings.

It’s been a bittersweet couple of weeks saying goodbye to H and D, and also to N and L after 2 and a half years of childminding. I’m going to miss all of you so much and I know that Jeremiah is going to be sad that you’re all not coming to play anymore. We know that we will see you all really soon though. Luckily we have three more weeks of playing with D until my childminding days are over. 😢

This week we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine with lots of outdoor play. We also painted on canvas for Father’s Day and had some play dates with our childminding friends.
On Monday we played in the garden in the paddling pool.
On Tuesday we went for a walk at Stover Lake with our friends from Little Rainbows.
On Wednesday we had a play date in the garden with our friends from Little Robins.
On Thursday we painted and painted some more!
