The zebra jumping spider 🦓 🕷️

They get their name due to their black and white camouflaged body and can be found well-hidden on walls.

They are very intelligent, with excellent eyesight that helps them catch their prey. Rather than making a web to trap prey, they jump.

They are tiny, 6-7mm, but can jump up to 10cm which is over 14 times their body length!

Deforestation alerts in the Brazilian Amazon have fallen to their lowest level in 13 years, according to new satellite data. Alerts have been down one third compared with the previous 12 months, and 55.6% below the average for the last decade. (Info from Positive News)

Otters are perfectly adapted to life on the water 🦦

Their webbed feet make them excellent swimmers, while dense fur keeps them warm. They can even close their ears and noses when diving underwater!

Otters need clean, healthy rivers with plenty of vegetation and food. They mainly feed on fish (particularly eels and salmonids) as well as birds, amphibians and crustaceans. 🐟

Seeing one of these elusive creatures is a special experience! 💚
