Year 3 Hovercrafts!

The Year 3 children have finished their last day in style as scientists, fair testing their hovercrafts on different surfaces to evaluate the amount of friction that was caused.
They had a huge amounts of fun as you can see, well done Year 3!

In Year 3 we have been learning to make movable Christmas cards using levers and linkages with fixed and loose pivots. We had a visit from Miss Doe, our DT Lead who was very impressed by their knowledge, understanding and finished cards. Well done Year 3! 👏

A big well done to Jess from Tawny Owls who on the weekend completed her 5k Elfie run for the Bone Cancer Research Trust!
Jess has trained very hard over the past few weeks and braved the arctic conditions to complete her goal!
Jess has raised over £250 for the charity 👏

Our Year 2 children are ready for their performance of 'Edgar the Dragon" tomorrow after a brilliant dress rehearsal this afternoon 😀

Take care of animals of all different breeds,
Feed them and help them if they are in need,

Our young entrepreneurs from Eagle Owls class took the time to make and sell a mixture of lavender cushions, keyrings, charm bracelets, plants, earrings and a find the toy under a cup game at this week's Christmas Fair!
They raised an excellent £56 for the school! Well done to you all 👏

FRIENDSHIP WEEK/CHILDREN IN NEED 2022:
Year 3 have been having conversations about our value on 'relationships' as its has been a celebration of friendship. We have thought and reflected about being a good friend to others and written about how we can do this!
It has been a wonderful and positive week to see the children celebrate each other in such a positive way 😀

Remembrance Day - Our Year 5 children performed a moving Remembrance Service this morning for their parents and our Year 4 children to honour those who lost their lives in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts. We also held a minutes silence at 11am on the main playground with the whole school, with Eilidh from Snowy Owls class playing “The Last Post”.

Local Devon artist Mrs Thompson paid a visit to the Year 3 children talking about her passion for art and key techniques to develop the skill of painting!
The children were engaged and asked a lot of questions about her work and got to see some of her wonderful artwork. Thank you Mrs Thompson!
