Morning all...

I just wanted to share about a new parent/carer support group that is starting in Ivybridge. A chance to meet other parents, ask any questions, get some advice and signposting.

It's a free event but we'd love you to book a space if you're interested so we can plan numbers 😊

We are hoping this will become a regular group and we are keen to get feedback from parents/carers to help shape it moving forward.

🎮⛏️ Minecraft meets creative writing at CMP Tutoring! ✍️

What better way to inspire a setting description than with a world of their own? 🌄 This superstar brought their Minecraft biome to life before using it as inspiration for their writing. They planned their landscape, characters and weather, then used their senses to build a fantastic bank of adjectives and descriptive vocabulary along the way. 🌧️🌊✨

We love seeing children so engaged in their learning - especially when their own interests become the spark for creativity! 💚 At CMP Tutoring, we make learning creative, purposeful and, most importantly, fun. 📚✨

🌟 A very warm welcome to Melissa! 🌟

Melissa is a passionate and experienced secondary school English teacher, specialising in KS3 and KS4 English, with additional experience teaching English at KS2. She particularly enjoys working with a range of ages and adapting her teaching to meet the individual needs of each pupil.

Melissa takes a warm, nurturing and supportive approach to teaching and believes that building positive relationships with pupils is fundamental to successful learning. She takes the time to understand each student as an individual, creating a welcoming environment where they feel comfortable, valued and confident to ask questions, make mistakes and challenge themselves. Melissa is passionate about helping pupils develop not only their academic skills, but also their confidence and enjoyment of English.

As her sister, I’ve seen first-hand the care and enthusiasm she brings to everything she does, and these qualities are reflected in the way she supports and encourages her pupils.

Learning doesn’t always have to mean worksheets! 😊

We love using hands-on activities at CMP Tutoring to make learning more engaging - from card games to practise maths skills, to interactive tools for spelling.

A bit of fun can make a big difference! 💙

11+ prep can be stressful… luckily, Lola is on hand for some very important emotional support. 🐈‍⬛📚

Her approach is simple: provide cuddles, occupy the workspace, and look mildly unimpressed by your answers.

We’re not saying she’s improving the results… but she certainly thinks she is! 😸

Just a quick note that we are currently 'out of office' and our summer holiday lessons will resume from Monday 17th August. Aleesha and Caroline's summer sessions are continuing as scheduled. Please do get in touch if you need to but apologies if I am a little slower in my replies! Happy holidays everyone! 🏖
