Diary Dates for school closures in May📔

Rhymes will be open for both these dates. If you require holiday care please let us know as soon as possible as this will only run if we have enough children attending😁

What do whole grapes and mini eggs have in common? They’re both the perfect size and shape to completely block a child’s airway. And, due to their texture they can be difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

With whole grapes we advise cutting them in half lengthways and ideally into quarters to create thin strips. But chopping up mini eggs isn’t as easy. So, what can you do?

1. Hide them from the children and eat them yourself – good luck with that!
2. Put the mini eggs into a sealable plastic bag and smash them into small pieces with a rolling pin. Or, crush them in a pestle and mortar.
3. Opt for a different treat. Larger, hollow eggs are much safer for little ones.

World Book Day 📚

To all our current families on Friday 23rd December we will be holding our Christmas party, all nursery children who are registered with Rhymes are invited, times are as follows:

Party will be from 10am-12noon party food included
Santa will arrive at 12noon all parents are welcome to come and see their child receive a present from Santa before collecting them.

If your child has an afternoon session the nursery will close at 5pm, can all parents ensure their child is collected before 5pm.

- Minimum 16-30 hrs per week
- Must hold HNC/SVQ Level 3 Childcare Qualification
- Great communication skills with both children & parents
- Able to use own initiative working individually & part of a friendly team!

The children who attend nursery on Thursday 27th, we will be having a dress day for Hallowe’en! The children are invited to come to Nursery either in fancy dress or in their jammies! We will be doing Halloween games and activities throughout the day. 🦇🧟‍♂️

24th of October is now an inservice day for North Ayrshire Schools. If you require holiday club please contact us as soon as possible☺️

As a mark of respect, Rhymes Nursery & Out of School Care will be closed on the day of the Queen’s funeral (Monday 19th September).
