Input is a charity providing work preparation for people with learning difficulties. Our trainees recycle donated used computers for use by the local community.

Through these tasks a work principle is developed and instilled. The resources of Input, its trainees and its volunteers are available for use by the community and to actively promote people with learning difficulties, the use of information technology, recycling and education. Come join us, give us your old computer or help us out with a donation – together we can make the community work.

Thursday Computer Tip

The second Tuesday of every month Microsoft updates Windows. Be sure to keep your computer up to date to maintain its safety and security.

Thursday Computer Tip

Next time you have the hoover out use the tools to clean the back and vents of your computer (turn it off first) – this helps stop it from overheating, especially in the summer. Great for laptops too!

Today is the day that the Focus Centre is handed over to the builders for demolishing to make way for new homes.

Thursday Computer Tip

Your keyboard can control most of the functions of a computer – these can save you lots of time. Most have to do with the keys CTRL (control) ALT (alternate) and the Windows key.

Try holding down Windows key and press E once – this opens File Manager.

For more advanced – Windows Key and 1 or 2 or 3 etc. opens the shortcuts on the taskbar next to the Windows Key.

More tips next Thursday.

Thanks so much to all the people who have helped Input to make it to 10 years.

Can you believe Input is 10 years old.

We have computers available for those in need, such as people out of work, socially isolated etc. Refer them to Input

Got an old computer? Donate it to Input and we will wipe it and find it a new home.

Have you heard we have a new workshop at 11-15 Old Irvine Road, Kilmarnock, KA1 2BD, open for computer repairs and advice Wednesdays and Fridays.

We are not up and running yet doing our usual preparation for work with people who need extra help, but we are still giving out computers to those in need. Got someone in mind we could help? Send us the details and we will look at each case.

We’re so sorry for not posting updates. We’ve not been doing our usual work. Input has been giving out devices all pandemic to get those stuck at home back in touch with friends and family.
