Letβs talk separation anxiety π₯
Firstly separation anxiety is normal for children and can traditionally feature when starting Nursery or School π«
Here are some tips below β¬οΈ to consider
βΌοΈPractise short separations from your child to begin with. You could start by leaving them in someone else's care for a few minutes while you nip to the local shop..
βΌοΈTalk about what you'll do together later. ... and always validate feelings β€οΈ
βΌοΈLeave something comforting with your child eg favourite toy
βΌοΈ Make saying goodbye a positive time.

January 5th COVID Update
There were some very important changes to the rules to testing and self isolation announced today during the First Minister's statement.
The detail can be found here:
πhttps://www.gov.scot/news/self-isolation-and-testing-changes/
In summary:
If you test positive on a lateral flow test and DO NOT HAVE symptoms, you should SELF ISOLATE IMMEDIATELY but there is no need to book a PCR to confirm that result. The only exception to this is if the individual will be applying for the Self-Isolation Support Grant, where a confirmatory PCR test is required.
π» You must record the positive lateral flow test which will trigger further advice & instructions which you should follow carefully. You report all test results (positive and negative) at: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result. If you cannot use the online service, call 119 (free from mobiles and landlines).
Those WITH SYMPTOMS should still book a PCR test, even with a reported positive Lateral Flow device test.
Someone who tests positive can end isolation after 7 DAYS as long as they have NO FEVER and record two negative lateral flow tests. These Lateral flow tests must be taken no earlier than day 6 after testing positive and another at least 24 hours later.
Close contacts of positive cases - who are either under 18 years and 4 months or are older and fully vaccinated (1st, 2nd & booster dose) - will NO LONGER be required to self-isolate.....BUT....they will, instead, need to take a lateral flow test EVERY DAY for SEVEN days. If one of these tests is positive, self-isolation will then be required and must be reported and further instructions followed.
Close contacts over 18 years and 4 months but not fully vaccinated will still be asked to self-isolate and to take a PCR test.
Report a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test result Report your result after using a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test. Find out what your result means and what you must do.
Covid update π¦
From Saturday 11 December if you are identified as a household contact of a coronavirus case, you should self-isolate for 10 days.
This applies even if you are fully vaccinated and have received a negative PCR test result.

Indoor or outdoor, why not have a go at this different kind of Scavenger Hunt - one that requires you to use your senses. Talk about what the senses are, why we need them. Imagine what it would be like not having them.

Natalie Russell another good Xmas activity xx
A great activity that was lots of fun; always great to step away from the normal and create using the not so obvious. Good activity for developing focus, fine motor practise and an opportunity to talk about shape and just talk. A very satisfying activity
The kids loved doing this activity βοΈ π
"Scissor Snipped Christmas Trees" is the perfect activity for rookie scissor users. We cut triangles out of green construction paper, then glued/ taped them to popsicle sticks/ straws/ pipe cleaners/ pencils. The kids snipped along the popsicle sticks and made beautiful trees! Our initial tree was just with paper and the kids kept snipping the tree in half. We added the popsicle as a barrier to prevent tree decapitation π. The more snips, the more beautiful the tree turned out. This is great for 2-3 year olds to begin scissor use!
