Working as part of a team, students will:
✈️ Design, build and test a variety of aircraft
📐 Learn how to turn ideas into practical engineering solutions
🛠️ Develop workshop skills using a range of tools and manufacturing technique
🎮 Explore CAD, design processes and problem-solving
🏆 Design, build and fly a radio-controlled aircraft to compete in the BMFA Payload Challenge against schools and universities from across the UK.
Along the way they'll gain valuable experience in:
*Engineering and manufacturing
*Materials, sustainability and design principles
*Critical thinking and innovation
*Teamwork, communication and leadership
*Presenting ideas with confidence
This isn't just about building aircraft—it's about thinking like an engineer. Students are challenged to solve real problems, work collaboratively and see their ideas take flight, all while developing skills that are valuable for future study, apprenticeships and careers.
