Burlington Road Out of School Club

We got the box for Christmas items out of the cupboard and the children found a new wooden Nativity set. Some of the children asked for a box and sat with the paints and glitter and made a stable. We then added the Nativity set and some animals to finish it off.

This morning the children all worked together to run their own posh restaurant. We had waiters, chef and a second chef. The children talked about allergies to make sure the chef knew what not to put on some of the customers plates. For todays special we had posh toast which went down well. The children even had the idea to put their restaurant on Deliveroo to get their name out in the wider world.
Some of the children even became protesters as the restaurant was wasting so much food.

Heidi and myself would like to say a big hello to the new children and new families that have started after school club over the last few weeks. We loved this saying and just had to share it that all the children that attend are part of the Burlington Road Out of School Club garden.

Me and Rachel would love to say a big thank you to all the parents that have gave us flowers and chocolates.
We hope you all have a lovely summer and look forward to hear about all your adventures when we get back.
Also a big good luck to the year 6 children that we have cared for over these years carry on shining like the stars that you are.

This afternoon the children enjoyed doing Chloe's hair. Chloe's brought in different hair bands, clips and bows. All the children talked to each other about what they could do in Chloe's hair.

The children asked for the animals out this week. One of the children asked could we add something else to the animals. So we let the children pick boxes, tubes and paper. The children all got very creative and all worked together to make Pride Rock from The lion king. We had all different ages of children work together from Reception children cutting out the water while others made the rocks and cliffs.

Some more pictures from this afternoon's loose parts play. We have had a dog walking company, a rock band and some children were using some little hearts pretending it was money trying to raise money for the nurses.

To carry on from this is not a box post today we put all the toys away and the children enjoyed doing some loose parts play. The children enjoyed exploring all the items and having lots of fun.

We have been talking with the children about how the younger children may see an every day object as something else. We thought this made it clear and to the point.

This afternoon one of our reception children wanted to draw me and Heidi, I think she has done a fantastic job.
