That was one of the key themes explored when we recently welcomed Ketan Dattani CEO of Buckingham Futures and host of the Buckingham Blueprint Podcast to the University of Suffolk campus.

Alongside Environmental Health Practitioner Course Lead Edward King, and Chloe Read, who documented the day on camera for Buckingham Futures, Ketan explored our specialist facilities, visited our mock courtroom, discussed the future of the profession in our podcast studio, and joined Mark Kemp (Principal EPO, East Suffolk Council) and Em (environmental health apprentice) on a contaminated land site visit.

The day showcased the breadth of Environmental Health, from science and public health to regulation and environmental protection, while highlighting how apprenticeships are helping employers develop the next generation of professionals.

Thank you to Ketan, Chloe, Mark, Em, and Edward for shining a spotlight on this fascinating multidisciplinary profession that deserves greater visibility.

In our latest University of Suffolk Business Solutions Podcast episode, the University of Suffolk Business Engagement team spoke with Nick Hampton and Gemma Addison from RSZ Accountancy (hosts of The Fun Side of Business), about the people, challenges and lessons behind running a business.

A key takeaway from the conversation was simple: businesses often need support before they know exactly what they need. The right advice, the right people and the right skills can make all the difference.

How much time does your team lose to repetitive administration, manual reporting and disconnected systems?

The University of Suffolk's AI and Automation Practitioner Apprenticeship (Level 4) can help employees identify those bottlenecks and turn them into practical improvement projects.

Participants develop the confidence to assess AI tools, automate routine processes, use data more effectively, and support organisational change.

No previous coding experience is needed. Learning takes place alongside employment, so new knowledge can create value from the outset.
