Another popular resource I am using at the moment is magnatiles. They are so versatile and can be used in a number of ways. I’ve been using them to support spellings! Would you like to see some of the other resources I use? Let me know in the comments!

The magnetic chess game is genuinely one of my most used games. The children love the competitive edge to it and it’s a great way to get them actively engaged in the task. This one was focusing on quick recall of number bonds. I just love hearing her laugh!

For me, learning should always feel hands-on, engaging and tailored entirely to how your child’s mind works. Whether that’s through sensory games, building towers, or simply taking the pressure off so concepts can properly click.

At the end of the day, you know your child better than anyone, so I always treat tutoring as a team effort between us.

A “shiny” approach to phonics with P today ✨🦀

This session was packed with sensory learning! From tracing letters in glitter trays and playing spelling 4-in-a-row, to digging for Tamatoa’s treasure in the sand (shoutout to for the fab resource!)

Did you know sensory play boosts cognitive development and memory? When children use sensory materials while learning academic skills, it creates a “tactile memory.” Tracing a letter in glitter or digging up a word in the sand helps anchor that abstract concept into their long-term memory far better than just looking at a worksheet.
