🎲 Maths doesn’t always have to be written.

One of our favourite ways to support children’s learning is through games. They’re a brilliant way to:
• Keep children engaged and motivated
• Apply and practise skills they’ve been learning
• Reinforce key concepts
• Encourage children to explain their thinking and mathematical reasoning
• Build confidence through lots of opportunities to have a go

Games also give us the opportunity to see how a child applies their knowledge, rather than simply whether they can complete a worksheet.

At TutorSuffolk, we use games and practical activities alongside more traditional teaching to make sessions engaging, purposeful and tailored to each child.

📚 Year 6 Small Group Tuition

We’ve had a huge increase in Year 6/SATs tuition enquiries since the start of the new school year, so we’re opening up a small Year 6 tuition group on Fridays after school in Kesgrave.

💷 A more affordable option than 1:1 tuition
👥 A small group, so children still receive plenty of support and attention
✨ Same tailored teaching and support

The group will focus on the key areas children need to feel confident and prepared for their SATs, with teaching tailored to the children in the group.

🧮 Why do we love using physical resources in maths?

Because maths should make sense!

At TutorSuffolk, we use resources like Numicon, Base 10 and place value counters with many of our pupils - not just in KS1, but throughout KS2 too.

Physical resources help children to see mathematical ideas rather than just memorise methods. We often find that when children can visualise a concept, their confidence grows and those all-important ‘lightbulb moments’ happen. 💡

✨ We don’t just want children to get the right answer. We want them to understand why it’s the right answer.

🌟 Another SATs success story! 🌟

Seeing progress like this is exactly why we love what we do.

This pupil worked incredibly hard throughout the year and made fantastic progress, moving from ‘Expected’ to ‘Higher Standard’ in all subjects. What an amazing achievement! 🎉

We’ve just received another lovely review from a parent 💚
