🧮 Why do we love using physical resources in maths?
Because maths should make sense!
At TutorSuffolk, we use resources like Numicon, Base 10 and place value counters with many of our pupils - not just in KS1, but throughout KS2 too.
Physical resources help children to see mathematical ideas rather than just memorise methods. We often find that when children can visualise a concept, their confidence grows and those all-important ‘lightbulb moments’ happen. 💡
✨ We don’t just want children to get the right answer. We want them to understand why it’s the right answer.

We were so grateful to receive this lovely Google review from one of our families. 🌟
One of the things we love about tutoring is getting to know each child as an individual - understanding their strengths, identifying areas where they need support, and building their confidence along the way.
If you’re looking for a qualified primary teacher to support your child’s confidence, learning and progress, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us a message! 📩

🌟 Another SATs success story! 🌟
Seeing progress like this is exactly why we love what we do.
This pupil worked incredibly hard throughout the year and made fantastic progress, moving from ‘Expected’ to ‘Higher Standard’ in all subjects. What an amazing achievement! 🎉
Progress like this doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a result of consistent hard work, and we’re so proud to have been part of that journey.
If you’d like to find out how tailored tuition can help build confidence and support progress, we’d love to hear from you.

We’ve absolutely loved receiving messages from the families of our Year 6 pupils today sharing their amazing SATs results. 🌟
Every single child has worked incredibly hard, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved. It has been wonderful to see the fantastic progress they've made and to hear that they have all achieved the results they were hoping for. All of their hard work has truly paid off. Well done to each and every one of you! 🎉
Tailored tuition can make a real difference. If your child is starting Year 6 in September and you'd like to give them an extra confidence boost ahead of SATs, we'd love to help!

We’ve just received another lovely review from a parent 💚
It’s always wonderful to hear that pupils enjoy their sessions and that our support helps build confidence in school. We aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where children feel comfortable, understood, and able to make real progress.
Dan has really enjoyed working with Theo, and it’s been great to see his confidence grow over time. Every child learns differently, and it means a lot to know our approach is making a genuine difference.
Thank you to all the families we work with for your continued trust and support - it’s genuinely appreciated.

Many people think tuition is only for children who are struggling. In reality, some of our pupils come to us because they're ready for an extra challenge.
This week, one of our Year 6 pupils has been exploring algebra in preparation for Year 7 - including expanding brackets and grouping like terms.
Building confidence, developing problem-solving skills and getting ahead before secondary school can make a huge difference to a child's transition into Year 7.
Well done on some excellent mathematical thinking, Elsie! 👏
📣 We currently have a small number of places available for both 1:1 and small group tuition, with sessions from £20.
📩 If you'd like to find out how we can support your child, send us a message.

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check✖️
Over the next two weeks, Year 4 pupils across England will be taking the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC).
The MTC is an online check designed to assess how quickly and accurately children can recall their times tables facts up to 12 × 12.
What does it involve?
✅ 25 multiplication questions
✅ Completed online
✅ 6 seconds to answer each question
✅ Usually takes less than 5 minutes
The check isn't something children need to be worried about. Its purpose is to help schools understand how secure pupils are with their multiplication facts and identify any areas where further support may be needed.
A few simple ways to help at home:
⭐ Practise little and often
⭐ Focus on rapid recall rather than written methods
⭐ Use games and songs to keep learning fun
⭐ Build confidence by celebrating progress
Good luck to all Year 4 pupils taking the MTC over the coming weeks - you've got this! 💪
