CLASS Learn Spanish and Culture with Gloria Picton SPANISH LEARNING EXPERIENCE - My name is Gloria Picton and I am a native Spanish speaker with over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish in the UK.

I am passionate about helping people learn this beautiful language and understand Spanish culture. I have taught Spanish at various educational facilities, including Suffolk College, St. Joseph School, the University of Suffolk in Ipswich, and Felixstowe School. In 2010, I partnered with my French colleague from Suffolk College to create a small language business called "GMC Languages." However, my colleague retired in 2016, which led to the formation of CLASS - a combination of Culture, Language, and Spoken Spanish. CLASS offers flexible Spanish lessons that can be taken online or in person to fit your busy schedule. Our interactive classes make learning fun and engaging for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned speakers. We cater to a wide range of students, including children and adults, and cover various topics such as GCSE and A-level study, business, general conversation, and holiday lessons. We also offer DELE courses for young adults who have completed the GCSE. We also hold coffee and Spanish conversation sessions for everyone who loves speaking Spanish outside the classroom. These informal, non-structured get-togethers provide opportunities to mingle with fellow language enthusiasts and make new friends. In addition, we offer dance workshops such as Sevillanas and Rumbas flamenco. This style of dance is performed at fiestas of all kinds throughout Spain, but especially during the feria when women wear the Traje Gitanas - colourful polka-dot dresses that add a swirling character and grace to the dance. Dancing is a great way to stay fit and make new friends while having fun. This page is a platform where students can share their learning experiences, receive help, and offer advice to others. You can stay updated with news and practice outside your lessons. Our goal is to make learning Spanish fun and enjoyable for everyone. ​What an incredible moment for Spanish football! La Roja has shown us once again that with teamwork, passion, and talent, nothing is impossible. Watching them win and celebrate on the pitch is an absolute inspiration.
​For all of us learning Spanish, this is the perfect time to soak up that excitement and pick up some essential football vocabulary along the way! 🤓🏆
​Here are a few key words and phrases you’ll be hearing all over Spain right now:
​La selección / La Roja: The affectionate nicknames for our national team.
​¡Campeones!: Champions! (Don't forget the upside-down exclamation mark at the start: ¡)
​El partidazo: An awesome or thrilling match! (Adding -azo to partido makes it big).
​Dar el subidón: That rush of total excitement and adrenaline when the winning goal is scored.
​¡A por ellos!: The ultimate Spanish chant to cheer the team on ("Go get 'em!").

What a magical and unforgettable afternoon! 🇪🇸❤️

My heart is still full of joy, and I can't stop smiling, thinking about our wonderful End of Year Garden Party! It was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible year together.

I want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you—my dear students and your wonderful families. Your constant effort to learn Spanish every week, your positive energy, and your joy in sharing these beautiful moments are the greatest gifts a teacher could ask for. We have truly built a unique and warm community!

We stuffed ourselves with traditional paellas (I really hope you enjoyed them! 🥘), enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon, and laughed so hard during our games. From your steady hands in the waiters' challenge, to your clever teamwork hunting for hidden treasures, and that spectacular moment singing at the top of our lungs under the porch for our "Musical Furore"—you are all true artists! 🎶🏃‍♀️

It has been an absolute honour to be your teacher this year. Now it’s time for you to get some well-deserved rest and enjoy a spectacular summer! You have more than earned it! ☀️🏖️
