☀️ HEATWAVE UPDATE FOR PARENTS ☀️

With the warm weather continuing, we wanted to let all of our families know the steps we are taking to help keep the children cool, comfortable, and safe while still enjoying their day at nursery 🌞

Throughout the day, children will be encouraged to drink plenty of water, and regular drinks will be offered to keep everyone well hydrated 💧

We also have lots of fun planned, including water play and ice activities to help the children stay cool while enjoying the sunshine safely 🧊💦

To help us during the hot weather, please could we ask parents to:

👕 Send children in light, loose, comfortable clothing
👒 Provide a named sun hat every day
🧴 Apply sun cream before arriving at nursery

Where possible, we will make use of shaded areas and cooler indoor spaces, and staff will continue to monitor the children closely throughout the day to ensure they remain comfortable in the heat.

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Forest School leader, Angela, who has officially achieved her Forest School Lead qualification!

We’re incredibly lucky to have her sharing her outdoor magic across Bows and Arrows every week.

You’ll find her with us every Monday and Thursday, inspiring children, sparking curiosity, and bringing the forest to life.
We’re so proud of you, Angela, well deserved! 🥳

Would you like some support from our FSP? We have a open evening coming up on Tuesday 30th June 5-6pm for support on anything from toileting and behaviour to sleep and eating.
This is a drop in, informal event, there are sign up sheets in the reception of Little learners and Forest Learners, pop your name down if you would like to attend.

We’ve had such an exciting few weeks in the main room. Some of our children enjoyed a fantastic gymnastics session at Pipers Vale, and we were lucky enough to welcome Story Dan for some wonderfully imaginative storytelling.

The children acted out stories, explored everyday dilemmas, and chatted about the moral behind each tale.
We can’t wait to have Dan back again this week — and to see what other amazing visitors will join us throughout the summer term.

Our Tuesday Fareshare delivery has arrived. Please do pop in even if your child is not in setting this week if you need something to help you through the half term

This week we were very lucky to receive some lovely lemons in our Fareshare delivery so of course Aimee and our little chefs made lemon cookies.

They mixed flour, dairy free butter, a tiny bit of sugar and the juice of the lemons together , baking them in the air fryer at 190 for 10minutes until they were golden brown.

The nursery smelled fabulous 🍋🍋🍋

Don't forget we're closed next Monday 25th May for the bank holiday. Hopefully the Sun will make an appearance for us!

Next week will be for paid care only.

Children attending on a term-time only or stretched funding basis will finish this Friday, and we look forward to welcoming them back from Monday 1st June. Please speak to a member of staff if you are unsure of your child's booking pattern.

🌍We've been busy celebrating World earth day by looking after our local environment. Groups of our Preschoolers went out into Landseer park to litter pick. We talked about the damage littler can do to wildlife in the park. We found it a little difficult to use the litter pickers but soon got the hang of it.

Some of us were also very excited to spend time with Lea using the sewing machine to make some new decorations. This is a new skill for us to learn but we were really confident and listened well to the safety rules. Keep your eyes out for our decorations around the nursery🧵🌎

A little bit of magic visited our nursery yesterday. 🥰
For some time now, the children have been imagining princesses, castles, and grand adventures,and have specifically requested a visit from a real princess , so we decided to bring a little of that wonder to life.

Our special guest princess joined us for storytime, singing, and dancing, sharing her graceful moves and filling the room with excitement. The children were captivated from the moment she walked in.

A truly unforgettable afternoon filled with imagination and joy.
