"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken adults."
Often attributed to Frederick Douglass

It's a powerful quote.

But perhaps there is another truth we don't talk about enough.

What if people aren't actually broken?

Life can leave scars.

Trauma.
Loss.
Abuse.
Addiction.
Loneliness.
Poor mental health.
Financial hardship.
Family breakdown.
Prison.
Homelessness.
Grief.

These experiences can make someone feel as though they've lost themselves.

But feeling broken isn't the same as being broken.

As Leonard Cohen beautifully wrote:

"Gather up the brokenness... bring it to me now."

His words remind us that beneath every hurt, every disappointment, and every setback lies something that has never disappeared.

Hope.

Strength.

Worth.

The person you were always meant to become.

At Climb Nova Consultancy, we don't believe our role is to "fix" people.

People are not machines.

We believe our role is to help people rediscover what has always been there beneath the pain.

Every day we walk alongside people facing some of life's toughest challenges supporting those experiencing mental health difficulties, trauma, addiction, neurodiversity, domestic abuse, housing problems, unemployment, isolation, financial hardship, and crisis. We also help businesses, charities, and community organisations find direction, grow with purpose, and create lasting positive change.

We don't simply look at the problem standing in front of us.

We look beyond it.

Beyond the labels.

Beyond the circumstances.

Beyond the fear.

Because underneath every setback is potential waiting to be rediscovered.

The same philosophy guides everything we do within our communities.

We believe in building strong children.

Supporting struggling families.

Empowering individuals.

Strengthening communities.

Creating opportunities.

Not because people are broken…

…but because everyone deserves someone who believes in the person they can become.

Sometimes the greatest act of kindness isn't repairing someone's life.

It's reminding them they were never beyond hope in the first place.

At Climb Nova Consultancy, we don't help people become someone new. We help them rediscover the strength, courage, and purpose that has been within them all along.

"The strongest foundations are often hidden beneath the deepest cracks. Our job is not to repair the person it is to help them uncover the strength that was there all along." 💙

The Ultimate Lesson in Resilience: Meet Tsutomu Yamaguchi 🌋
On August 6, 1945, Tsutomu Yamaguchi was caught less than two miles from ground zero when the first atomic bomb struck Hiroshima. Burned, blinded, and deafened, he survived.
He managed to navigate the ruined streets and make it back to his hometown. Three days later, on August 9, he was trying to explain the horrors of Hiroshima to his supervisor when the second bomb struck Nagasaki.

Against all statistical odds, he survived again.
Yamaguchi spent weeks battling severe radiation sickness, but he didn't just survive
he rebuilt.

He went on to live to 93, turning his trauma into a lifetime of purpose, advocacy, and guidance for others. He famously said: “The reason I must tell my story is so that this never happens a third time.”

Why this story matters to us at Climb Nova Consultancy
We rarely face literal explosions, but everyday life can bring overwhelming, shattering events that feel just as devastating.

For vulnerable individuals facing mental health battles, emotional distress, suicidal crises, and every day life challenges , including the exhausting road of addiction and relapse prevention, it can feel like the world has collapsed around you.

When you are in the thick of that trauma and exhaustion, just surviving the day is a massive victory. But you shouldn't have to navigate the aftermath alone.

What we do
At Climb Nova Consultancy, our core mission is rooted in deep empathy and real-life support. We provide FREE personal consultations and direct community support for individuals walking through their darkest, most challenging moments.

Just like Yamaguchi found the strength to step out of the shelter and find a path forward, we are here to help you:
Find a safe space to catch your breath when you are overwhelmed.
Rebuild your foundation with tailored, holistic guidance that respects your personal lifestyle and values.

Regain your confidence so you can climb out of the valley and toward a more fulfilling, self-believing life.

No matter what "blast" you are recovering from, there is hope, there is support, and there is a way up. You are resilient, and you don’t have to prove it alone.

If you or someone you know is facing a real-life challenge and needs a safe, professional, and genuinely caring place to turn, we are here. Let’s connect. 🏔️

Life isn't designed to be easy.

At some point, every one of us will experience loss. We will lose people we love. We will lose pets that became family. We may lose money, opportunities, relationships, confidence, or even parts of ourselves along the way. Sometimes people will hurt us, judge us, or walk away without us ever understanding why.

Waiting for a day when life becomes perfect is waiting for a day that simply doesn't exist.

The truth is, courage isn't found when life is calm. It's found when life is messy.

Real strength is waking up after heartbreak and choosing kindness. It's standing back up after failure. It's refusing to let pain define who you become. It's continuing to believe in people, even after you've been disappointed.

You can't always control what happens to you, but you can control what happens within you.

Every setback carries a lesson.
Every scar tells a story.
Every challenge is an opportunity to become stronger than you were yesterday.

At Climb Nova Consultancy, we believe resilience isn't about pretending life doesn't hurt. It's about finding the strength to keep climbing, even when the path is steep, uncertain, or painful.

Don't wait for an easier life.

Become stronger.

Because mountains aren't climbed when the weather is perfect—they're climbed by people who refuse to stop moving forward.

"Your greatest strength isn't avoiding life's storms; it's discovering that you can walk through them."

This weekend sees in Walk The Island 2026!!

We were one of the fortunate charities that Walk the Island chose to fundraise for back in 2023, along with SPARK Community Space!

The money that was donated to Enable Ability went to our EA Wheelchair Basketball service, providing additional spaces, and purchasing new sports wheelchairs and equipment.

Having run for over 20 years, our Basketball service continues to provide a physical outlet for children and people with (or without) disabilities. We are proud to have such a wonderful, inclusive activity that is open to everyone!

We are sending our best wishes to everyone taking part in the Walk the Island on Saturday, as they this time raise funds for Connors Toy Library and Portsmouth Lifeguards (Portsea Rescue)

Thank you Walk The Island for continuing to raise money for, and spread awareness of our many Portsmouth-based charities 💜💚
