While many people have been enjoying the beautiful weather and half-term break, five of our athletes have spent the last two days at an intensive fight camp as part of their preparation for the upcoming World Championships in Romania.

The camp covered karate-specific fitness and speed training, technical and tactical development, competition scenarios, and the setup and ex*****on of sweeps and takedowns. Athletes also benefited from a session with a sports psychologist, focusing on the mental side of high-level competition and performance.

Experiences like this are invaluable in helping our athletes continue to develop both on and off the tatami, and we’re incredibly proud of the commitment they continue to show in pursuit of their goals.

A huge thank you to Luke Cuthbert for the invitation and for putting together such a fantastic event.

As our athletes continue their journey towards representing their club and country on the world stage, we are always looking for sponsorship opportunities. 🥋 ROAD TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 🌍🔥

We’re excited to launch our 4-part Friday Kumite Session series designed to give Karate England athletes additional opportunities to train, develop, and prepare alongside other motivated competitors ahead of upcoming competitions and the World Championships. 👊

These sessions will focus on high quality kumite training, technical development, tactical understanding, and building confidence in a positive but competitive environment. ⚡️

Led by Leonie Kersey & Shauna Carroll, the aim is to bring athletes together, share knowledge and experience, and continue raising standards through hard work, support, and quality training. 🥇

Whether you’re preparing for national or international competition, these sessions are open to all Karate England athletes looking to gain extra training and competitive experience.
