Looking outside you might not believe it but summer solstice is just around the corner.
Our solstice event is now fully booked.
But over the next week or so I shall be sharing the events for the rest of summer that you can join instead.
Have any of you met the plant in this picture?
I met it for the first time the other day and its majestic stature and beauty blew me away. One every forager should be aware off 🤓

Just 3 spaces left on the summer solstice event. Please message me to book your space.
Just a reminder if you have requested a space it is not confirmed until you pay your donation. This event will be using many hours of prep and lots of materials and resources so your donation makes it possible for me to do it without being out of pocket.
Many thanks

What a glorious May Day, I feel so full of joy and in awe of the beauty of nature.
I was at the beach for the most spectacular sunrise and sprightly morris dancing.
Then back at the beach in the evening for fire, food, community and of course that glorious flower moon rise.
Thank you to everyone for making it a beautiful Beltane or Bealtaine 💖

Tomorrow’s flower moon is a special one, it’s the first full moon on Beltane since 1988 🌸
To celebrate all things Beltane think flowers, fairies, late night outdoor magic I made a new potion. Can you believe the pink comes from Nettles?
I have named it ‘Away with the Fae’ as it has relaxing dreamy properties perfect for midnight cocktails in the woods.
See the previous post if you want to join in with some Beltane magic.
✨ RECIPE✨
My gift to you 💖
~Gather a large handful of Mugwort leaves, two large handfuls of Hawthorn blossom and about 300g of young Nettle tops.
Be mindful of insects and any plant inhabited by one should be left, if any insects make it home pop them back outside 🐛
~Give the Nettles a good wash.
~ In a large pan bring to the boil 500ml of water, 5-700g of white sugar and the juice of 3 lemons. Stir regularly until the sugar is dissolved and don’t let it burn.
~ Turn off the heat and add all your plants roughly chopped, give them a good stir and let sit for 4-6 hours. You should see the gorgeous pink from the Nettles.
~ Add a handful of Rose petals and simmer the liquid for about 15 minutes.
~ Strain well and pour into a sterilised bottle, it should last 6 weeks in the fridge but it tastes so fine it definitely won’t be around that long.
Have a read about the properties of Mugwort and Hawthorn so you know what to expect from your cordial, don’t drink the whole bottle in one go or you will definitely be away with the Fae 💖
I plan on adding some sparkling mineral water and a few sprigs of Mint, maybe a dash of Gin.
Enjoy your weekend
Hopefully see some of you over the next 48 hours
Much love
Astrid 🌟
