The Lodge Day Nursery

We have had such a special morning here at The Lodge! Today was our first time in welcoming the residents from our local Bethesda Eventide Homes in to spend some time with our Pre School children!

It was beautiful to witness the residents and our children bonding over lots of lovely activities which have definitely been enjoyed by all ages! We saw portraits of each other being created, lots of communication and working together for our magnet boards, and so many important phone calls on their role play phones!

We work very closely with Bethesda Eventide Homes and our children, right from babies up to our Pre School children visit the care home each month and speak very highly of the residents they visit often.

We are sure this will be the first in many visits they have to us here at Ipswich School, we cannot wait for lots more fun (and of course biscuits!) next time.

What a wonderful week we’ve had at The Lodge Day Nursery! 🌧️💚

The children have loved making the most of the rainy days, splashing and exploring in the garden in their waterproof overalls and welly boots. We’ve also enjoyed walks to the park to spot the ducks and discover the changing world around us. 🦆🍃

Our Pre School children had another lovely visit to our allotment plot at hill community garden, where they checked on the plants and helped with weeding and watering, developing their understanding of growth and caring for the environment. 🌱💦

A week full of outdoor adventures, curiosity and learning through play!

It has been another fun-filled week at The Lodge! 🌻🎨✨
Across the nursery, the children have been busy exploring, creating, and learning through play. Our Pre School children enjoyed painting their own tiny pots ready to plant sunflower seeds next week, while all age groups have loved getting involved in messy play, outdoor adventures, and lots of fun in the sand pit. It’s been wonderful to see so many smiles, friendships, and curious little minds at work this week! 🧡

This week we have been making the most of the lovely weather with lots of outdoor play and exploration, especially in the sand pits! ☀️🌱

Our Explorers children have been busy planting courgettes, sweetcorn and herbs, whilst carefully watering the strawberries and potatoes and learning all about growth and caring for living things. 🍓🌿

We’re also very excited to welcome our caterpillars to nursery! 🐛🦋 The children across all rooms have loved learning about the life cycle and can’t wait to watch them transform into beautiful butterflies over the next few weeks.

The Lodge Pre School children had a fantastic visit to the Castle Hill Allotment Community Garden, where they proudly handed over the cheque from the money raised through our Christmas hamper. Which was £415 pounds. 🎄

The team at the allotment were absolutely over the moon with the amount raised! They shared how it will help them buy new resources and tools to make the space even more exciting for children to explore and learn about the natural world 🌱

The children had such a brilliant time—exploring, discovering, and enjoying the outdoors. It was full of smiles, curiosity, and lots of fun! 😊

This week has been truly special as the children welcomed their wonderful grandparents into the nursery 💛

Across every room, the children have enjoyed such precious moments sharing their learning, playing together, and creating lovely memories with their grandparents. It has been heartwarming to see these bonds celebrated, supporting the children’s sense of belonging and well-being.

We’ve had some wonderful trips to the park where the children loved watching the ducks, and even enjoyed a special picnic together! 🦆🧺
