Weekend dedication is back in full swing!

Our popular Saturday Maths sessions kicked off last weekend, with 35 committed students staying for a full 2-hour prep session for their upcoming GCSE Maths mocks. The focus and effort in the room were top-tier! The best news? These sessions will now be running EVERY Saturday, including during the holidays! Huge shoutout to our amazing Maths team and incredible Maths mentors for giving up their time to support our students every step of the way. Let’s keep this momentum going!

We were blown away by the turnout—and especially loved seeing so many incredible maths lovers amongst the parents and students tackling our numbers challenges!

Future Healthcare Leaders in Action!

A proud moment for our Health & Social Care department today! Some of our students—Lena, Aleeza, and Ella—spent an impactful morning representing the school at the Discovering ESNEFT Open Morning at the University of Suffolk.

They hit the ground running:

- Networking with NHS colleagues from across the East of England,
- Gaining insights into key ESNEFT funding focuses and incentives,
- Exploring exciting volunteer and career opportunities across the Trust.
- Discovering alternative support services—including a special meet-and-greet with Walter Doodle the therapy dog (and even showing off a few tricks with him!)

A brilliant morning spent championing our course, connecting with industry experts, and flying the flag for our school.

A huge thank you to all the parents and prospective students who joined us for our Open Evening last week!

🌟It was incredible to see so much interest in our school. Mr Wilding’s Principal’s talk in the Main Hall was completely packed out, and our fantastic student ambassadors did an amazing job giving tours and sharing what makes our subjects so special.

From hands-on activities to bustling classrooms, we hope all our visiting Year 6 students felt right at home! 🏫✨⏰

Important Reminder: The deadline for Year 7 applications to join in September 2027 is 31st October. Make sure to get yours in on time!

This special session is designed specifically to help our Year 11 students tackle their upcoming challenges head-on—helping them reset priorities, set achievable goals, and plan for success. It’s going to be an incredible day for all our Year 11s, and we can’t wait to take this next step forward together! 💡🎓

Over the holidays we loved hosting a special transition coffee morning for our upcoming Year 7 students and their families.

It was great to see everyone chatting over hot drinks and introducing themselves to their new Head of Year, Mr. Cordice-Berry!

Students got a head start on navigating the school, getting familiar with the layout, and checking out their new timetables. We hope this helped everyone feel more confident about joining us and got them off to a flying start at Ipswich Academy!🗺️ 📚

A massive thank you to all the families who joined us and made the morning such a positive, welcoming success.

📵 Phone-Free and Focused!

In line with new government guidance on phone-free schools, we’ve successfully launched mobile phone pouches at IA! 📱✨On day one, every student received a pouch to secure their phone for the school day. By removing phone distractions, we're creating a calmer environment, boosting classroom learning, and encouraging real face-to-face social connections. We're confident this positive change will support our students' overall well-being, focus, and success. Here’s to a distraction-free year!
