💞 Mothers Day at ABC Wonderland 2024 💞

We were very excited to invite the wonderful mothers to ABC Wonderland to spend the day with their children, doing activities and an afternoon tea fit for the Queens that mothers are.

We love working in Partnership with our parents and I know it may seem that we mention this a lot but it is imperative for your children's care and development that we work together.

The children loved having their mothers in the same place that they do all of their learning. We cant wait to host another one next year!

📔World Book Day 📔

We enjoyed making our own costumes and reading all our favourite books! World book day is a day to celebrate books and reading and interacting with our imagination. There is no end to what the characters can achieve, which fills the children with learning opportunities and development.

🎊Carnival at ABC Wonderland 🎊

🎊 We explored a wonderful tradition in many different parts of the world and celebrated Carnival. We made our own masks, put some dress up clothes on and some make up and danced around the room. Not only teaching children about the differences between them and their friends but celebrating them. This activity hits many vital development points:

💞 Valentines Day - Spreading the love and setting an example 💞

💞 At ABC Wonderland we enjoy celebrating different holidays and teaching the children all about the different holidays and how they are celebrated and Valentines day is no different.

💞We made lovely Valentines day cards and shared them around to all of our friends and showed each other how much we appreciate all our friends at the nursery.

💞We then went out for lunch and had a romantic day out just like people do on Valentines day.

🧐 Our Weekly Activities - This week was all about focus🧐

Our Brave Toddlers were working on their fine motor skills and were really concentrating on using the tweezers to pick up the pom poms and threading with the pipe cleaners. The babies and toddlers really enjoyed this activity and concentrated hard on their task ending with a sense of accomplishment.

Our Adventurous Children used real toys in their play which requires a lot of listening and concentrating to handle each tool safely. They listened to how each tool should be used in a safe manner and then were able to use it in their play. It is important to look at the benefits of each activity and counteract it with the potential dangers. In this activity the benefits outweigh the risks and the children felt independent in their learning.

Let your children join in on mundane activities that you are doing at home, you would be surprised to see how much they enjoy it.

We are starting our January in the best way with a lot of outside and physical play.

Our Brave toddlers & babies advanced their gross motor skills by climbing on a climbing frame and our tunnel, it is important to allow your toddlers to climb so that they can strengthen their muscles and improve their physical ability.

Our Adventurous Children worked on a similar strength by playing some outdoor games in the garden. We had to work in a pattern so that we could stimulate our brains as well as our physical body. We used the circles on the floor and created a pattern of jumping in and out of them. This is a more advanced physical skill that has been adapted to our children which stimulates their cognitive development alongside.
