Well done to everyone that took part in today’s Ipswich Club Championships, including the guests from Felixstowe and Saxmundum Judo Clubs. Ipswich Judo Club celebrates two 18-year-old black belt role models Ipswich Judo Club, based in Sidegate Lane West, is celebrating after two of its most talented athletes achieved their black belts.

If you're thinking about entering our Dan grading on Saturday 25th January and not sure it's worth the journey because there might not be enough players to fight, then here's a breakdown of entries so far.

We have four 1st Dan, four 2nd Dan, a 3rd Dan and three 4th Dan men entered. We've also got seventeen 1st Kyu men in as well.

There are 8 women entered as well, four 1st Dan's, one 3rd Dan and 3 1st Kyu's.

We're looking to recruit new members, especially Juniors, and so we have a special offer for any Junior joining us in January. First session free as usual, but subsequent 3 sessions for a £10 one-off fee

If you want to earn the coveted Black belt or that elusive next Dan grade, it's time to start planning your grading diary for 2025.

Ipswich JC are running a competitive Dan grading on the 25th January 2025. The January 2024 grading was a massive success, so let's see if we can make 2025's entry even bigger.

For anybody thinking of coming along to the club during the summer hols, the refurbishment work at Northgate is finished and we're open again as normal from Monday 12th August

If anyone was thinking of visiting us over the summer. then be aware that the refurbishment work at Northgate is over-running and so we will be closed for a further week with sessions now due to restart on Monday 12th August

A reminder to everybody that we are open through the school summer holiday period. However, the hall is closing for maintenance for 3 of our sessions - 25th July, 29th July and 1st August. Also, we're doing a summer payment holiday in recognition that lots of you will be taking holidays plus we're closed for 3 nights - August is free
