I am absolutely delighted to tell you that Got to Read has won a lottery grant of £11,850 which will secure Got to Read's future for the next two years. We have also won a second grant for £2,000 which will further help to secure our future.

Charity receives grant to secure its future An Ipswich charity has received a grant to secure its future for the next two years.

I read an article today in my news feed which shocked me. Now I knew that 1 in 6 adults have a reading age below 11 years. That’s around 16% of the population but that data was in 2011 and hasn’t been updated.
Today I read:
“more than a third of young people (38%) left secondary school without achieving at least a level 4 (grade C) in English language, and the gravity of the situation is stark”.
And like any skill, if you do not use it, it gets worse.

We will be running the next training course for volunteers in late September.
