Investing in our School, and its future.

Ipswich School has been part of the town’s history for more than six centuries, moving to our Henley Road site in 1852.

This summer, our historic frontage has undergone an extensive facelift, part of a wider programme of improvements across the School.

From new and improved spaces in Boys’ Boarding, the Senior School Library and the History corridor, to enhanced play facilities at Ipswich Prep School, we continue to invest in the places where our pupils learn, live and spend their time.

We are proud to care for an extraordinary heritage, while ensuring our School continues to evolve for the generations still to come.

A significant afternoon and evening of school rugby awaits.

Our U14A, U15A and U16A sides take on Sedbergh this afternoon, before the 1st XV meet this evening at the Ivor Preece Centre at Broadstreet RFC in Coventry, a halfway point for both schools.

This is always a much-anticipated fixture in the school rugby calendar, bringing together two schools with proud rugby traditions and a shared respect for the game.

Both 1st XVs have enjoyed strong starts to the season and will be looking to continue their progress in the Daily Mail Trophy. For the third week in succession, the fixture also features in ’s Games to Watch!

🏉 U14A, U15A & U16A - 4.30pm
🏉 1st XV- 6.00pm

The 1st XV fixture will be broadcast live on YouTube channel.

🏉 A great weekend of rugby at Ipswich School!

There was plenty to celebrate on the pitch, with our U15A side securing a win against Campion and the U16A coming through a tough, closely fought contest with a narrow victory.

Beyond the results, it was brilliant to see the respect and sportsmanship shown between the teams after the final whistle, with players applauding their opposition and coming together for three cheers.

Well done to everyone involved, it was a fantastic display of teamwork, determination and the spirit in which school sport should be played. 👏💙

A fantastic start in the Sisters in Sport competition! 🏐

It was a brilliant week of netball for Ipswich School, with our 1st VII, U15A and U14A teams all progressing through the first round of the Sisters in Sport competition.

The 1st VII secured a closely fought 25–23 victory over Oundle, finishing strongly after an outstanding final quarter. The U15A produced an impressive 33–12 win against The Appleton School, while the U14A began their campaign with a convincing 29–13 victory over Finborough.

Three matches, three wins and plenty of excellent teamwork, determination and skill on display. A great start to the competition and valuable preparation ahead of the County Finals in November. 👏

📚 Success in the Cambridge Economics Challenge

Congratulations to our Sixth Form economists who achieved an impressive set of results in the Cambridge Economics Challenge, a national competition involving 2,000 entrants.

The 75-minute written paper, set by Cambridge economists, takes pupils beyond the exam syllabus with a series of highly challenging tasks.
