πΎ Ganzoni Tennis Competition πΎ
The annual Ganzoni Tennis Competition once again delivered an afternoon of fantastic tennis, with pupils representing their Houses in a series of closely contested matches across all four competitions. π
Congratulations to School House, who claimed the Junior Girls' title, Sherrington House, who were crowned Senior Girls' champions, Broke House, who won the Junior Boys' competition, and Felaw House, who came out on top in the Senior Boys' tournament. π
Despite the occasional rain delay, the standard of tennis on display was outstanding, with impressive rallies, close matches and plenty of House spirit throughout the event. From determined performances on court to enthusiastic support from teammates on the sidelines, it was a brilliant showcase of competition, sportsmanship and teamwork. π
Well done to all pupils who took part and helped make this year's competition such a success.

π Congratulations to Penny D and Bunny CB (Year 10) and Alice D (Year 9), who achieved an outstanding second place at the regional finals of the Dora Love Prize and have qualified for the Grand Final in July.
The Dora Love Prize brings together schools from across Suffolk to reflect on the lessons of the Holocaust and consider how understanding the past can help create a better future.
This year's theme, 'Bridging Generations: How can learning about past genocides help prevent them from happening in the future?', inspired the girls to create a powerful presentation and film exploring awareness of more recent genocides, including events in Bosnia and Myanmar.
The judges praised the students for tackling such important and challenging issues with confidence, compassion and maturity, and for raising awareness of events that are often less well known among younger generations.
A fantastic achievement and a wonderful example of thoughtful research, collaboration and courageous advocacy. We wish them the very best of luck in the Grand Final. π

πͺ Exercise Viking Wanderer πͺ
On Wednesday 17 June, Year 10 and Year 12 cadets from Ipswich School's Combined Cadet Force deployed to Thetford Military Training Area for Exercise Viking Wanderer, an assessment exercise designed to test Year 10 cadets on their 1* Fieldcraft syllabus.
After constructing their overnight basha shelters and enjoying a meal from their ration packs, the cadets took part in a night navigation exercise before spending the night under the stars. β
The following day, both Army and RAF cadets put their fieldcraft skills to the test, undertaking section battle drills and practical exercises under the guidance of our dedicated Year 13 cadets and adult volunteers. Despite the high temperatures, cadets showed impressive resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the exercise. π
The exercise also provided an opportunity to say goodbye to Dr Fred, Officer Commanding RAF Section and a valued member of the CCF leadership team, who leaves Ipswich School this summer. We thank her for her commitment and contribution to the CCF and wish her every success for the future. π

Dialled in, focused and prepared... just some of the words that came to mind while watching our U15 Girls' Cricket team yesterday.
Their hard work and determination paid off as they secured an impressive victory over Culford, booking their place in the National T20 Cup quarter-final against King's Worcester next Tuesday.
The excitement doesn't stop there, with a 100-ball quarter-final also awaiting them on Friday. Two fantastic opportunities lie ahead for this talented group.
Good luck, girls! ππ

The cricket season goes from strength to strength. As the weather warms up and the exam season begins to draw to a close, the excitement on the cricket field continues to build. π
Yesterday brought another fantastic set of results... π
π The U17 Boys reached the National Cup semi-finals after a thrilling victory over Gresham's. They now face Repton on Thursday for a place in the final. It was wonderful to see the excellent spirit between both teams after the match too.
π The U15 Girls booked their place in the National Cup quarter-finals with a superb win over Gresham's.
π The U12 Boys progressed to the County Cup semi-finals after overcoming Framlingham.
There is plenty more to look forward to before the end of term, with a packed schedule of county and national fixtures across all age groups. The U15 Girls are back in action today against Culford, and there is still so much cricket to come over the next two and a half weeks. π
