The first two pictures are of two incredibly talented Extended Diploma Performing Arts, Saranna and Nancy, who are both in The Mousetrap. Saranna is currently Mollie Ralston and Nancy had her West End debut as Miss Casewell on Thursday. Congratulations to both of you.

Another Extended Diploma in Performing Arts student, Avril Maponga is currently in Stranger Things The First Shadow as Patty Newby.

And finally A Level Music and Music Technology student Matthew Herbert is Musical Director for Dark of the Moon that has just opened this week.

Our last big events of the year in Music and Performing Arts are the Spotlight at One on Tuesday 9th June and the end of year Music Showcase on Thursday 18th June at The John Peel Centre for Creative Arts in Stowmarket.

So proud of Music alumni, Harry Woodman, who had a piece performed by last Friday in Cardiff. Harry is in his fourth year and was always destined for great things, as well as being one of the loveliest people you could meet. You can still watch it on iPlayer now. Harry was one of 8 composers selected to have a work of his performed. You can hear his piece around 80 minutes into the programme on iPlayer.

Our Battle of The Bands 2026 is two weeks today!

On Thursday we went on a day out to London for an A Level Music Day at Trinity Laban conservatoire followed by seeing SIX the musical in the West End. The students had a brilliant day learning about how to improve their compositions, a workshop on analysis of set works including performances of the pieces by Trinity Laban students and were wowed by the amazing cast and band of SIX 🎤🎵🎸🎷🎺

Our next Music at One event is our Battle of the Bands 2026 on Wednesday 25th February at 7.30pm (Doors open 7pm).

This year it is at The Church, St. Stephens in Ipswich which is an amazing space to perform in and part of the Brighten The Corners family of venues. We are really excited to be hosting this year's competition here.

You will hear the best bands at One Sixth Form College battling it out to be crowned Battle of the Bands Winner 2026. We have a panel of music industry expert judges from the local area and there will also be an audience vote.

We have One Music alumni Grace Calver performing during the judging.

A massive thank you to Music World, Ipswich, University Studies at WSC, Ipswich Borough Council, Stowmarket Carnival and Andertons Music for donating prizes for the winning bands.

Come and join us for what will be another fantastic evening of performances from our talented musicians.
