The chicks are now four weeks old and have just moved outside. They are loving the freedom and sunshine. More eggs are in the incubator ready to bring to Foxglove Violet Hill so (fingers crossed) more children can enjoy the experience of seeing chicks hatch.

A fantastic visit from a fire crew and fire engine this week at Foxglove Violet Hill. The children have been role playing fire fighters for a while now, so they were so pleased to be able to go in the engine and use the hoses. A massive thank you to the team from Stowmarket fire station who came to visit.

A wonderful week in the woods and at the nurseries. Some children explored the Three Little Pigs and mixed their own cement from mud and water. An absolutely glorious mess! We are back to visit our friends in Chilton Court residential home every week; this week we took some Duplo and tried to build the biggest tower possible. Lots of friendly competition between the residents and the children.
Wonderful to be back at Forest Schools. Gallowsfield Woods is looking very autumnal and we made some great flags by hammering autumn fruits including blackberries, rosehips and damsons. Lots of exploring and tree climbing and some very happy children.

We've had a wonderful first full week back. The mud kitchens have had plenty of use at both nurseries and we were lucky enough to spot a grasshopper on the sandpit at Foxglove Violet Hill. The children were fascinated, which led to us looking up grasshoppers in a book and on the ipad and then to us leaping like grasshoppers ourselves.

We are so looking forward to welcoming our new children to Foxglove Violet Hill tomorrow. The nursery is set up and the teachers are ready!
