Today was the finissage of NOVUS a project that a group of our students undertook as part of The George Community Pub in Wickham Market’s Heritage Lottery renovation project to bring this historic C15th inn back to life and full glory following a devastating fire.
Our students used salvaged charred wood to draw, sculpt, draw and print in order to make work that was then exhibited in the public and community spaces for visitors and the local community.
Thank you to the George’s amazing team and to our students for making this project so special.

We are delighted that our final year student has been selected for this years JOHN RUSKIN PRIZE 💥💥💥💥
Here’s her post about it:
This morning I delivered my installation for the John Ruskin Prize 2026, to the Trinity Buoy Wharf. It’s a fantastic space for an exhibition and I can’t wait to see all the work at the private view.
If you’d like to come to the PV or exhibition, details are below.
You’ll then see what I entered in its entirety. In the meantime, above are a few detailed shots.
The John Ruskin Prize 2026 will take place at Trinity Buoy Wharf from Thursday 29 January to Saturday 21 February 2026.
🖼️Out of almost 4,000 entries, 91 artworks by 82 creatives have been shortlisted for this exhibition.
🎨 The John Ruskin Prize showcases talent in all media, encouraging interdisciplinary works responding to this year’s theme, Patience in Looking, Truth in Making.
🕔 The exhibition is free to enter, and will be open Wednesday-Sunday each week, from 11-5pm on weekdays, and 10-5pm on weekends.

It was great to catch up with recent Fine Art graduates .maguire.art .crane.art on a brilliant opening today of their SCENARIA exhibition. The culmination of a month long residency as part of The Art Station Graduate Award
The exhibition includes work by artist mentors Lizzie Musson, Anna Ilsley and Kasia Hobson and continues until 18 May along with PLAYTHING -a wonderfully uncomfortable installation in the Vault.
