Martlesham Preschool

Martlesham Preschool is run by a voluntary committee of parents, elected each year at the Annual General Meeting.

This is open to the parents/carers of all the children who attend the setting, and employs a team of highly qualified and experienced staff. Martlesham Pre-School:

What does the term 'Early Years' mean to you? Here at Martlesham Preschool, we believe that it's all about jumping in those muddy puddles, just to see what happens! Looking at the world with curiosity and wonder;
Asking questions, and

discovering answers;
Exploring and testing your own ideas;
Feeling safe and secure. We believe that every child is unique and individual, therefore, it is our job to find out what sparks your child's imagination, and natural desire to gain their own knowledge and understanding of the world around them. We aim to tailor our learning opportunities to feed the beautiful curiosity found in all children. We are a small team of highly trained, and experienced Early Years Practitioners. We pride ourselves in our commitment to, our own, professional development, and in our reflective practice. We use a Key-Worker system, meaning that children form some lovely bonds during their time with us, and practitioners get to know children and families very well. Early years means so much more than 'just the time you spend before starting school.' It is truly the key foundation for acquiring positive attitudes to learning;
Attitudes that will stay with you for a lifetime;
A foundation of learning opportunities that will give your child the essential knowledge and experiences they need to have true 'cultural capital'. We also understand that for many children that are now starting this journey, their experiences of life, so far, have not been '100% normal'. Due to the Covid Pandemic, children coming into Early Years settings, for the first time, may NOT be used to larger groups;
They may NOT have played with other children of their own age;
They may NOT have been left in the care of anyone else, other than their own parents;
They may NOT have seen too many new faces and smiles, due to the mandatory use of face masks. We always keep these factors in mind with every family that we meet. We value everyone's personal experiences, and we will work in partnership with parents to promote a positive transition for all. Last week @ Martlesham Preschool, we embarked on a new adventure to the farm🚌

We loved seeing the animals and having the chance to feed, stroke and even cuddle them🐣🐰

We explored the nature trail, and took part in some pond dipping🐸

It was a lovely day out and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves☺️

Meet the Team😃
This is Elsa our Apprentice she is currently completing her Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification. Elsa loves to support the children with art and mark making, you will often find her mark making with the children. She also enjoys engaging with the children during play. Be sure to say Hello to Elsa, and thank her for the excellent job she does🥰

Meet the Team,

This week meet our wonderful Business Administrator Becky. Becky works hard behind the scenes to ensure the children and staff have all the support needed when at preschool. Becky loves coming out to engage with the children, and supporting them during daily transitions. We sure do appreciate Becky for all her hard work, and caring nature🥰

Here at Martlesham Preschool we love being outside and exploring the outdoor environment. Learning outside is so much fun, and it supports children's connection to nature. We love speaking about the weather, dressing appropriately for weathers🌞

We enjoy obstacles, the mud kitchen where we will use recycled materials to create our own inventions. We love to get out and about our community and explore the nature we have around us. We do this with weekly visits to a local forest school, and visiting our nature walks around us🌳🌿
