✨ Panto Fun! ✨

What a fantastic trip to the panto! The children thoroughly enjoyed every minute – from the laughter to the surprises. Miss Young and Mrs Hearnden were picked on throughout (much to everyone’s delight!), and even Freya in Reception got to go up on stage and meet the fairy!

The children loved being right at the front – especially during The 12 Days of Christmas when they got absolutely soaked by the super soakers! 🎭💦

A truly magical day full of smiles, laughter and memories.

We’re thrilled to share that our fun run and non uniform day raised an amazing £271 for Children in Need!

Despite the chilly weather, the skies stayed clear and the children absolutely smashed it — some even ran up to 2.5 miles! Their determination, energy and big smiles made the whole afternoon brilliant.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, cheered and donated. Well done, Whatfield — you’ve made us proud! 💛🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️✨

Join us for a wonderfully festive day at the FOWS Christmas Fair on Sunday 16th November, 10am–3pm at Whatfield Village Hall!

There’ll be Christmas gifts and crafts, children’s games, Santa’s Grotto, and an amazing raffle with plenty of prizes to be won! 🎅🎁

A delicious lunch will be served between 12–2pm, so bring your family and friends along for a festive day of fun, food, and community spirit.

🎭✨ A Magical Pantomime Treat for Our Whole School! ✨🎭

We are thrilled to announce that on Tuesday 17th December, the entire school will be heading to Ipswich’s Regent Theatre to enjoy the spectacular pantomime Cinderella!

This amazing opportunity has been made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of the George Scott Charity and the tireless fundraising efforts of our wonderful Friends of Whatfield School - FOWS. 💜

For many of our children, this will be their very first time experiencing live pantomime on such a grand scale – what a magical memory to make together!

We’ll be sharing more details with families soon, but for now, we just want to say a huge thank you to the George Scott Charity and FOWS for making this fully funded trip possible.

Now it’s time to get practicing those classic pantomime calls…

🌟 Mosaic Project – We Need Your Help! 🌟

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are excited to be starting a KS2 mosaic project and would love your help to bring it to life! To make our designs colourful and creative, we are looking for old tiles that we can break up and reuse.

✅ Any size or colour will be useful
✅ Broken or leftover tiles are perfect
✅ Please just make sure they’re ceramic (not glass)

If you have any spare tiles tucked away in the shed, garage, or loft, we’d be so grateful if you could send them into school over the next week.

Thank you for supporting our children’s creativity – we can’t wait to see the mosaics take shape!

🚴‍♀️ Cycle to School Week 🚴‍♂️

Between October 13th–17th is Cycle to School Week, a national initiative encouraging children to cycle, scoot or walk to school.

👉 If you live in the village, we’d love it if you could walk or scoot to school with your child. Children who live in the village are also welcome to use the scooters we won in our Road Safety Rap competition last school year. 🛴✨

👉 If you live outside the village, perhaps you could park at Wheatfields and enjoy the final walk together.

This year, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs! 🎁 Schools that make a pledge on the Bikeability website receive a prize pack to support active travel activities run by our JRSOs. The pack includes:

5 hi-vis bags
Bike-specific prizes (bike bells, bike lights)
Walking/scooting prizes (reflective badge, snapband)
Hi-vis vests & activity booklets

Our JRSOs will be running some fun initiatives during the week, and your child could be in with a chance to win! ✨
