Early Learning and Childcare applications for 2026-2027 are opening soon.
The admissions period is opening earlier than in previous years. It will open on Monday 8th December and close on Friday 19th December. Children with birthdays between 19th August 2021 and 29th August 2024 are eligible to apply for an ELC place for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Kintore playgroup are having an open evening on wednesday 3rd December 2025 from 6:00-7:00pm, you are welcome to come along and have a look around the playgroup and meet the playgroup staff

Kintore Playgroup Pre-School is based in Kintore (the blue building at Kintore School). Out of zone children are welcome here at Kintore Playgroup. With the maximum amount of children set at 24, here children really benefit by being part of a smaller group to gain independence and have lots of fun playing in our indoor and outdoor areas.

Following the age 3-5 Curriculum for Excellence, with extremely experienced staff, the playgroup offers wonderful engaging learning experiences!

The child is at the heart of our Playgroup; we nurture each child in our care by providing a nurturing environment which is safe, stimulating and caring.

With a weekly dance class by a visiting specialist and the library the children really thrive and have such a lovely time!

We are advocates of outdoor play and learning. At Kintore Playgroup the children have regular opportunities to visit Gauchill Woods and the school eco-garden to explore and experience the natural world through play and practical activities.

Children also enjoy opportunities to go to local cafes/walks. The last two terms we enjoyed a lovely trip to Crafty Cafe to make decorations and a trip further afield on the train to Inverurie Garden Centre for a play/lunch. (All of this is free of charge and included)

During mealtimes and social occassions we come together in our lovely snack room, to eat and enjoy snack and lunch.

Everyone at Kintore Playgroup work hard to promote good liaisons with the local nurseries and primary schools to ensure a sensitive and smooth transition for each child and their family as they move on from Kintore Playgroup.

Ultimately, our aim is to provide a high quality experience for each family who shares their day with us at Kintore Playgroup.
