🌿 This Week’s Community Story: Archie
A little look back at the school holidays, when Archie completed 12 hours of volunteering towards his Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with Wullie around the Medan Centre which holds both Cafe48 and Udny Community Trust Company Ltd.

Across the holidays, Archie got stuck into a range of jobs, building on skills he already had while learning plenty of new ones along the way — from helping in the garden to getting involved with other jobs around the centre. 🌱🔨

He absolutely loved it and got on brilliantly with Wullie — with plenty of work, learning and, naturally, a fair amount of football chat! ⚽

It’s fantastic to see young people in our community getting involved, developing their skills and making a positive contribution.

Well done, Archie — you’re always welcome back at Udny Community Trust Company Ltd 💚 And a big thank you to Wullie for sharing his time and knowledge.

C O M P E T I T I O N

VisitAberdeenshire are inviting young people across the North-east to take part in a creative competition imagining what tourism in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire could look like in 2036, helping them develop creativity, research and critical thinking skills while learning about the visitor economy.

Entries are open until 9 October 2026, with winning submissions showcased through VisitAberdeenshire channels and at the North East Tourism Conference.

School pupils across the North-east are being challenged to imagine what tourism could look like in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire in 2036 as part of a special creative competition marking 10 years of VisitAberdeenshire.

C L U B S C O N V E N T I O N

On Friday we held our annual Clubs Convention. This is an opportunity to showcase all the extracurricular clubs held at lunchtime and afterschool. Now is a great time to join a club or return to one you attended last year. Most clubs are open to all years so S1 are especially welcome. There is a huge range to choose from.

Congratulations to Iona Watt who made her professional debut for Aberdeen FC against Hamilton Academical. The young defender also scored the opener in the game, making it a day to remember.
