This page is primeraly for our apprentice Motor Vehicle Technicians old and new.

Cars have moved on and so have technicians. We are no longer Grease monkeys. Spanners, or Tinkerers. It's a highly skilled profession.

Let's talk about what a modern automotive technician actually does.

They diagnose faults across electrical architecture, high-voltage systems, advanced driver assistance technology, software-controlled chassis systems, and networked ECUs that communicate with each other in ways that are not always documented.

They do this under time pressure, with vehicles they have never seen before, using tools that require their own specialist knowledge to operate correctly.

And then somebody calls them "just a mechanic."

The automotive technician is one of the most technically demanding roles in the UK economy. It is time the industry - and everyone outside it - started treating it that way.

Fed up the daily workshop grind?
Fancy a change but still want to stay in the automotive world?
This could be your perfect next step.
With the motor trade having the 3rd highest vacancy rate in the UK, demand for skilled technicians has never been greater. We’re seeing record enquiries from businesses seeking to train apprentices to try and fill the skills gap. So, we’re expanding our team to meet that need.
We’re looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to help train the next generation of automotive professionals.

• Prepare learners with the latest industry skills.
• Potential to deliver additional courses (MOT, EV/Hybrid, etc.) to qualified mechanics.
What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician (SVQ/NVQ Level 3, IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Experience working on light or heavy vehicles
• Teaching experience—or willingness to gain a teaching qualification (on the job training will be provided)
• Genuine passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge
• Strong, up-to-date technical skills
Why Join Moray Firth Training Group?

What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• 36 hour week, Monday to Friday
• 36 days annual leave
• Generous mileage/accommodation allowance for visiting apprentices across our region (Lochaber to Shetland, Skye to Turriff)

How did that happen ?? 10 years ago we celebrated our 50th Anniversary in business, and just like that today now our 60th Anniversary. We would like to thank all the past and current apprentices who have come through our doors and a warm welcome to the new ones who will start in September. We would like to thank all the employers for their continous support over the years and for all the customers who use us for the various other courses we deliver for them. Here's to the next 10 years and beyond, thank you.
