July 2024, there was a catastrophic fire in the building, everything from the last 10 years was gone. All the class notes, samples, templates and resources.
In 2014 The Sewing Room began bringing sewing classes to the Highlands, teaching beginners small projects to dressmaking skills.
2018, it blossomed into The Wee Fabric Shop, where classes continued and expanded into a fabulous fabric and haberdashery shop, winning Best Sewing Retail Shop, Scotland 3 years running. Now slowly rebuilding back to what I love, being part of the creative community on

Things don't always turn out how you imagined 🍎this was supposed to be part of a table runner. I didn't measure any of it, was so keen to get sewing my idea. I happily chopped up fabric and stitched it together. It ended up TWICE AS BIG as it was intended. For now, it's a wall hanging 😂🍎💚

Taa ~ daah moment.
Great class last night, everyone astonished at their achievement. I knew they could do it 😉, they were fabulous. All gone home happy and a huge smile, me included 😊❤

Woo hoo 🌟 doing a happy dance here ... very, very excited to be sharing with you that The Sewing Room is moving in with The Wee Fabric Shop🌟
After 5 years of being in Highland House I'm moving onwards and upwards ... this is why I've been so quiet lately. Classes have been on hold while waiting to secure our new shop.
I couldn't have done it without all you gorgeous folk who made it along to my classes (every single one of you!) spreading the sewing love and supporting my wee business.
