Playdough may look simple, but for young children its one of the richest learning materials you can offer!.
Here is some of the key benefits....
1. Strengthens fine motor muscles.
All that squishing & shaping build strength in fingers, wrists, shoulders needed for writing, cutting, self- help skills like putting on coats buttoning, putting on shoes.
2. Supports brain development.
As children manipulate dough, they are building neural connections that support problem solving, planning & coordination.
3. Encouraging creativity & imagination.
A ball of dough can become anything they want it to be! A world of story telling.
4.Builds early literacy & language skills.
Children naturally chat about what they are making, describ actions, and engage in storytelling while they play.
5. Promotes early math concepts.
Children explore size, shape, volume, symmetry& patterns.
PLAYDOUGH IS NOT JUST AN ACTIVITY - ITS A POWERFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT SUPPORTS THE WHOLE CHILD THROUGH PLAY.

Petition: Mandate diabetes awareness training for all childcare professionals & educators Recently, my world was turned upside down when a family member was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. One thing that struck me deeply was the realisation that so many childcare professionals and educators lack adequate training to recognise the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.
Great fun using all the recycling boxes we have collected to make a space ship!
