Kidz Day Nursery With a dedicated and enthusiastic team, we have created a safe and secure environment for all.

We have created a light, secure and homely environment catering for your child’s development. We aim to encourage learning and independence though play and make every day an adventure. We treat every child as an individual – Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and our team will ensure that there is a wide range of play and learning opportunities where your child can explore both indoors and outside. This week in our Adventure room the children have been celebrating Autumn and making some spooky Halloween crafts to decorate the Nursery! 🎃🍂🍁

The children have been making some lovely crafts to hang around the Nursery and put up on the windows 🦇🫟

They have been exploring in some Autumnal and Halloween tuft trays with different sensory experiences within them 🍚🎃

The children have been colour sorting using apples and practising their number skills counting them and trying to recognise the numbers 0️⃣1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣5️⃣

This week in our Little Treasure and Explorer rooms we have been celebrating Autumn! 🍁🍂

With the slight turn in weather we have been learning all about Autumn! 🌫☀️

In the Little Treasures the children have been exploring Autumn themed tuft trays, sensory bags and been looking at Autumn animal texture books 📚🍂

In the Explorers the children have been out on another welly walk! These have been very popular! 🥾😆They have also been making some crafts to go home and hang in the room, looking at Autumn books and helping to make some Autumn animals to go in our new role play area! 🐿🦊

🌟 Coming Soon to Your ParentZone App! 🌟

At Kidz, each month we focus on different letters and Makaton signs. The children enjoy learning their focus letters, the signs that go with them, and some key words and their corresponding signs.

We’re excited to bring this learning home to you! 💛

At the beginning of each month, we’ll be sharing short videos through your ParentZone app to show you our focus letters and key word signs. This will give you the chance to practise at home with your child, support their learning and have fun together!

What is Makaton? 🫶

Makaton is a communication programme that uses signs, symbols and speech together to help people communicate. It supports spoken language and can be particularly helpful for young children who may find communication difficult, helping them to express themselves, understand others and build their communication skills.

We hope you enjoy watching our videos and learning alongside your child at home. By working together, we can help make communication fun, engaging and accessible for everyone! 💕

This week we have been celebrating Space Week as well as looking at our focus letters of the month T and I 👩‍🚀🔭

In our 'Adventure room' the children have been;
👨‍🚀Exploring lots of different tuft trays with space themed resources and sensory play
✂Practising their cutting skills by cutting out different planets and then putting them into size order
🎨Painting lots of different things for both space and autumn
🧘‍♀️Space yoga

This week we have been celebrating Space Week as well as looking at our focus letters of the month T and I 👩‍🚀🔭

In our 'Explorer room' the children have been;
🎨Helping to make some things for our role play display boards, this meant lots of painting! While the paint was out the children helped paint a rocket ship 🚀
🥧The children helped make some jam tarts which they all enjoyed for their pudding
🌗They have been exploring a tuft tray with moon sand in mark making
🔨They used different tools to try and break free the insects from some ice

and so much more!

This week we have been celebrating Space Week as well as looking at our focus letters of the month T and I 👩‍🚀🔭

In our 'Little Treasure' room the children have been;
🎨Painting their own solar system picture using the action of splatting to make the paint look like stars!
🪰Exploring insects in a tuft tray and looking at books with different insects in
💡Exploring space books and sensory lights
🍦Using their hands to explore 'ice cream' made from cloud dough with some sprinkles and cones

We know that understanding the different childcare funding options can sometimes feel confusing, so we’re sharing these helpful guides from North Yorkshire Council to make things a little easier for families. 💜

There are a number of different schemes available, including:

🌈 15 hours and 30 hours funded
👶 Funded childcare for 2-year-olds
💷 Tax-Free Childcare
🏡 Universal Credit childcare support

Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to use more than one type of support together.

If you’re unsure what you might be entitled to, the North Yorkshire Families Information Service provides free, friendly and impartial advice about childcare, funding and support.

This week in our Little Treasure and Explorer rooms the children have been exploring their senses 👃🏽👅🥸

They have all spent lots of time outside in this glorious sunshine! The older children went on a welly walk and looked for lots of autumnal things as well as finding a ladybird and a worm! When in our own garden the children enjoyed using binoculars and magnifying glasses to help them look for different things they could feel, see and smell!

The younger children have explored sensory bags using their hands to feel, their nose to smell and their mouth to try some of the different tastes! They have also been exploring the sensory lights and using their hands to feel the different textures of toys and loose parts in the tuft trays.

In both rooms we have done some dancing and singing, listening to different types of music! Our children love to move and dance so this was a big hit! 🪩

This week in our Adventure room the children have been thinking about their feelings and emotions and autumn! 😃🥲🍂

They have enjoyed making their own emotion rock to take home, they painted it the colour of the emotion they wanted to show and then added on eyes! hey have also been making music and dancing to show their emotions, we talked about how the beat can be different to make us feel different things. 🪨

The children did some baking with Katie helping to make some delicious lemon muffins for their own pudding at dinner time! 🍋

The children have also been exploring lots of autumnal things that have been collected and used some books to support this play and extend it further! 📖🍁
