🏺✨ Welcome to the Year 5 Ancient Egyptian Museums! ✨🏺

Yesterday afternoon, our Year 5 classrooms were transformed into museums all about Ancient Egypt! As part of their history unit, the children were challenged to create something at home that they could share with others to showcase their learning.

The effort and creativity that went into this was absolutely amazing! Thank you for all of your support at home.

Year 6 were invited along to explore the museums and were blown away by what the children had created and all of the information they were able to share.

📚✨ A Royal Gift for Our Year 6 Readers! ✨📚

Our Year 6 children were delighted to receive their copies of Impossible Creatures by the award-winning author Katherine Rundell as part of The Queen’s Christmas Present initiative.

The programme celebrates the National Year of Reading 2026, a nationwide campaign aiming to inspire children and adults alike to discover the joy of reading and make it a part of everyday life.

At Barley Fields, we know the power of reading. It sparks imagination, builds knowledge and confidence, and opens doors to endless possibilities. We are therefore thrilled that our pupils have been gifted this special edition and can't wait to see them immersed in Katherine Rundell's magical world.

We will be reading this as our class reader next half-term! 📖

Our KS2 children were treated to a fantastic live assembly from i-rock! 🎸 🎵 The children had a brilliant opportunity to experience live music, enjoy the performances and hopefully even feel inspired to pick up an instrument themselves! 🥁🎤

A huge thank you to i-rock for bringing the music, energy and excitement into school! 🌟

Our Year 5 children have been working incredibly hard writing their own non-chronological reports all about space! 🌍🚀🪐
Today, they had the opportunity to share their finished reports with our Year 2 children. Year 2 loved listening to all the fascinating space facts and were full of brilliant questions about what Year 5 had learned during their topic.
We were so proud to see our older children confidently sharing their knowledge and our younger children showing such curiosity and enthusiasm. 💫👏
