Partnership accounts tripping you up? 📘

There's one mistake that catches out more AAT Level 3 students than any other: adding interest on capital to the net profit, when really it should just be dividing it up.

Our tutor Richard Sharp explains why the appropriation account only ever splits the profit that's already there, never adds to it. He's put together a clear worked example with a simple check to prove your answer every time.

The AAT 2025 Chief Examiner's Report named it one of the weaker performing tasks, with overhead absorption calculations and the extended written responses being where a lot of students lost marks.

⭐ There is nothing quite like seeing hard work pay off, and Molly's certainly has.

Molly achieved a 95% distinction in her AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and is now progressing onto Level 3 with us. She found the study materials thorough and easy to follow, with a tutor and course advisor always on hand to answer her questions. 🎓 Degree or apprenticeship? If you're thinking about a career in accounting and finance but you're not sure which study route to take, you are not alone.

Whatever your grades say, you have worked hard to get here, and that effort counts. If your results are everything you hoped for, huge congratulations and enjoy every bit of it.
