πŸ“Έ Year 11 Visit to RAF Waddington ✈️

Our Year 11 students recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to RAF Waddington, where they learned about the wide range of careers and opportunities available within the Royal Air Force. Students gained a valuable insight into life on an operational RAF station, explored future pathways including apprenticeships and employment, and discovered how a range of skills and qualifications can lead to exciting careers.

Visits such as these are an important part of our careers programme, helping to raise aspirations, broaden horizons and support students in making informed decisions about their future.

A huge thank you to everyone at RAF Waddington for providing such an engaging and memorable experience for our students.

πŸ“· Take a look at some of the highlights from the day below!

Year 8 Girls Football ⚽️

Tonight saw our year 8s girls head to Ormiston for their first fixture of the year. With a relatively small squad and a few girls making their school debuts, every girl had a big part to play!

The first half was end to end and competitive, with both keepers making a number of saves, however it was Ormiston who broke the deadlock and went into half time 1-0 up. Into the second half, the girls came out firing. We created a number of chances and played some positive football, but just couldn’t find the net! Unfortunately, Ormiston made us pay by scoring a second and third, eventually running out 3-0 winners.

Despite the result, we’re extremely proud of the girls 🫢🏼 They battled to the very end and played with a smile on their face… mostly! A huge shout out goes to Ayva G, who stepped up to play in goal at the very last minute and did superb πŸ‘ POTM tonight is going to go to Lily P. Lily was asked to play out of position but was excellent in the back line, getting stuck in and trying to get the attacks started from the back - well done Lily πŸ‘Š

Good news for the girls is that we now drop into the plate competition, where we’ll play Whitgift in the semi-final 🀞

We’d like to thank all of the parents/carers, as well as the girls who have been extremely supportive and ensured this fixture could go ahead this evening, we’re extremely grateful for you πŸ‘

Unlucky girls, enjoy your half-term and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks… semi-final preparations will begin after the holidays! ⚽️🩡

Finally, Thankyou as always to APM Commercials LTD for sponsoring our kit and our students, we’re very proud to have you as our sponsors!🀝
