What a super first week back at St Mary and St Peter's Church School. Our amazing Gruffalo Class and our after school messy club have weeded and planted fresh pansies and violas into all of our planters and hanging baskets.

St Mary and St Peter's enjoyed a wonderful day at Lyme Regis, blessed with lovely weather and plenty of fun. The children spent their time building sandcastles, digging holes and playing games on the beach. They were a credit to the school, behaving brilliantly and following instructions throughout the day. To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream before heading home! 🍦

The children spent the day exploring Brazil, Portugal, Mexico and Argentina. We made masks, flags, Portuguese treasure chests and Mexican Tortillas. The children also worked together in their teams in their football tournaments.

We also watched the highlights from the England V Mexico game. All of the children and staff wish England the very best in the semi final tomorrow!

This morning the children came dressed as their chosen careers. We had builders, teachers, police officers, racing car drivers plus many other careers. The children and parents completed an engineering task to build a tower using 20 pieces of spaghetti, sellotape and a piece of string. The challenge was to build the tallest, sturdiest and place a marshmallow on top! The children and adults showed great team work and perseverance!

Father Geoff came in and spoke to the children about his time in the navy. The children were fascinated about the different ships and the places that he had visited. The children all listened so carefully and asked so many questions.
We cannot wait to see the different careers that they come dressed as tomorrow!
