Saturday marked our first full cast run-through of Act 1 of The Nutcracker and the Music Box!

We want to say a huge thank you to all the parents for getting your children to rehearsals, to our fantastic team of chaperones for taking such great care of everyone, and to all our students—young and old—for your hard work and dedication.

The day ran without a hitch, the dances flowed beautifully, and we’re so excited to add the final touches to make this a truly fabulous show for our audience.

We started in Lynne’s beautiful garden, then headed to the magical Christmas displays at — the perfect festive backdrop. There were plenty of giggles as our soldiers and Nutcracker greeted customers while we waited for the cameras to roll! 🎄💂‍♂️

Featuring: Clara, the Nutcracker, his soldiers, a few Russian dolls from our party scene, and the Christmas fairy who takes Clara and the Nutcracker to the Land of the Music Box. 🌟

A Sneak Peek into the Creation of the Music Box

The music box is still awaiting its finishing touches — soon, the figures representing each element of Christmas will take their place on it.

This enchanting piece represents the land that Clara and the Nutcracker journey to. When the Fairy sprinkles her magic dust onto the box, Clara and the Nutcracker are transported into a wondrous Christmas world encased within it — meeting all the magical figures that call it home.

There will be drummer boys and bells to capture the sounds of Christmas,
a gingerbread man to evoke the warmth and spices of the season,
a candy cane to lead us down Candy Cane Lane, bursting with Broadway dazzle,
and a gift wrapped with ribbons to symbolise the spirit of giving and thinking of others.

This is the magic held within the music box — the heart of Christmas itself — and the destination of Clara and the Nutcracker’s journey: a true Christmas spectacle.

Take a step into the Christmas music box with Clara and the Nutcracker. This year’s reimagined production combines classical ballet with a variety of dance styles, creating a fresh, festive take on the holiday classic.
