🌿 What a wonderful week in Bunnies and Hedgehogs exploring our In the Garden theme! 🐝

We’ve been busy little gardeners this week! 🌼 We collected leaves of all different shapes from around the garden and had so much fun decorating them with paint using our fingers 🎨

We also made our own playdough and mixed in natural materials we’d found outside, then rolled it flat and used our collected treasures to make prints and marks in it ✨

Using scrunched-up tissue paper, we created our very own pretty flower gardens on plates 🌸🌷

When the rain came, we brought the garden inside! We made our own mud using natural materials, scooped it into pots, and loved exploring the smells of the wet leaves 🌧️🍃

So much lovely sensory learning and exploration this week! 👏

🚗 What a busy week in Owls! 🚗

This week our little explorers have been all about transport! 🌈

🛶 We got messy and creative making boats with cornflour and water
🏎️ We raced fast and slow cars down the ramp to see who’d travel furthest
🧩 We pieced together transport jigsaws
✏️ We discovered the marks vehicles leave using chalk
🚙 We made vehicle impressions and stencils
✂️ We had fun snipping playdough with scissors

So much learning through play this week! Well done, Owls! 💛

🚗✈️🚢 What an exciting week of learning in Owls.

Our little explorers have been engaged in learning about and exploring all different forms of transport this week, from planes to boats, we observed how each one operates. ✈️🚢

We examined cars up close, noting the imprints they leave behind and comparing their wheel sizes 🔍🚙. Getting creative, we rolled vehicles through paint to create interesting patterns, such fun mark-making! 🎨

We also tested our balancing skills, carefully lining up cars in the tuff tray to make sure they didn’t topple over, and had a brilliant time racing cars down a wooden plank to see whose could travel the further. 🏁

To finish off, we practiced our fine motor skills tracing transport images and enjoyed exploring books about different types of transport 📚✏️

Fantastic learning and exploring from our Owls this week. 💙

🦉🌿 This Week in Owls: Exploring the Natural World🌿🦉

We’ve had a wonderful week getting hands-on with nature 🍃✋

🌈 Messy trays let us explore different textures and materials with our fingers
✂️ We practised our fine motor skills, snipping natural materials with tools
🎧 We tuned in to the sounds of the outdoors, especially rainforest sounds!
🎨 Hand painting was a huge hit, so much fun getting creative and colourful!
🥕 We chopped vegetables to build strength and control in our little hands

So much learning through play this week, well done Owls 🦉

🐰🦔 What a lovely week in Bunnies and Hedgehogs.

This week has been all about friendship and kindness, and our little ones have shown so much of it. 💚 They worked together filling pots with sand, giggled away making bubbles in the water, and shared chalk beautifully to create a gorgeous rainbow together 🌈

It’s been wonderful watching them learn to share, take turns, and support one another, such important skills, and so much fun along the way. 😊

🦉 What a wonderful week exploring owls in our Owls room.

We’ve been busy little explorers, diving into books and learning all about the animals living in our environment 📚🐾 We love bringing the outdoors in, so we gathered natural resources from the garden to create our own beautiful artwork 🍂🎨

Some highlights this week:
🐸 Counting frog jumps with corn flour, such a fun, sensory way to practice numbers!
🌈 Designing a vibrant garden using colourful rice and other lovely textures

So much curiosity, creativity and fun this week, we love watching the children learn through play! 💚

✂️🎨 Fine Motor Fun with Playdough! 🎨✂️

Today we’ve been busy strengthening those little finger muscles through some squishy, squashy playdough play! Using plastic scissors, the children practised their snipping skills, carefully cutting the playdough into all sorts of shapes and sizes.

Activities like this are brilliant for building fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and scissor skills, all important building blocks for early writing and independence! ✂️💪

The children had a wonderful time getting stuck in and were so proud of their creations.

Nursery Rhyme fun in Bunnies and Hedgehogs 🎶✨

What a splashy, sensory-filled week we had. 💦 We got stuck into our water tuff tray singing Row Row Row Your Boat, giggling (and squealing! 😱🐊) every time we got to the crocodile bit.

We also had a Twinkle Twinkle rice tray, scooping and pouring to build up those all-important fine motor skills while we sang along and did the actions 🌟

Miss Polly had a Dolly needed our help this week too — we gave our babies a lovely wash with foamy water and sponges, then rinsed them clean with our pots 🧼🛁 Such lovely nurturing play.

And we got creative with mark making, paint sticks on textured wallpaper, chalk on our textured mats, and fingers (and objects!) drawing patterns in the sand ✍🎨

Such a fun-filled, rhyme-themed week of learning through play. 🐰🦔💛

🔢 Mathematics is Marvellous! 🔢

This week our little mathematicians have been counting, sorting, and exploring shapes all around them! 🧸📐

From counting conkers 🌰 to spotting shapes on our walk 🔷🔶, matching socks in pairs 🧦, and building towers as tall as they can, maths is EVERYWHERE in our play.

We love making numbers fun and hands-on because the best mathematicians start small! ➕➖

The ice cream van rolled up to The Lanes and the children were SO excited. Big smiles all round as everyone got to pick their favourite treat and enjoy a little sunshine fun together. 🌞🍨
