Hello from Baleine Sailing. Baleine is French for whale and is also the name of our boat - a strong large aluminium yacht (Ovni 435). We are offering RYA accredited training on this beautiful boat based in Ilfracombe, North Devon through the Ilfracombe Sea School. Baleine is the only commercially coded sailing yacht on the North Devon coast. We would be delighted if you chose to book with us.

Baleine sailing has been set up last year by Helen McKendrick and Ed Gaynor as a family business to share our joy of sailing. We are 2 GP’s at the end of our NHS careers starting a new enterprise.

We aim to develop both your confidence and yacht sailing skills through hands on learning. This is best done through 2 or 5 day courses where you sleep on the boat and are fed home cooked meals. It is really good fun and we promise to look after you - safety is a high priority

What can you expect - fun, loads of learning, possibly dolphins and a view of the stunning North Devon/ Pembrokeshire coastline from a perspective you may not have seen before. Your trainer is a Yachtmaster Instructor who has 10 years experience teaching on boats
