Our next 1 Day Sailing Taster Course is taking place on:

📅 Thursday 17th September

Perfect for complete beginners, this is your chance to spend a day out on the water aboard our Ovni 435 sailing yacht and get a real taste of sail cruising.

During the day you’ll have the opportunity to try:

⛵ Steering the yacht
🪢 Sail handling & ropework
🌊 Life aboard a sailing yacht
⚓ Essential safety on the water

Whether you're completely new to boating or looking to build your existing maritime skills, Ilfracombe Sea School offers a wide range of practical, hands-on courses designed to give you the confidence and qualifications to get afloat safely.

From Powerboat Level 2, Start Yachting, First Aid at Sea and the Short Range Radio (SRC) course, through to Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Yachtmaster Theory, Essential Navigation, Diesel Engine Maintenance and more, we have courses suitable for beginners and experienced sailors alike.

Our experienced instructors provide professional training in a friendly and supportive environment, whether you're learning for leisure, career development or to gain recognised RYA qualifications.

🌊 RYA Competent Crew
Perfect for beginners with little or no sailing experience. Spend 5 unforgettable days living aboard our sailing yacht, learning essential sailing skills, handling sails, steering, lookout duties and becoming a confident member of the crew.

⚓ RYA Day Skipper Practical
Ready to skipper your own yacht? This practical course develops your boat handling, navigation, seamanship and passage planning skills, giving you the confidence to take charge on coastal cruises with an experienced instructor by your side.
