We're happy to be offering last minute support to some DofE Central England participants whose expeditions have been cancelled elsewhere. We have open bronze expeditions available on the following dates:
11-12 May, Ashbourne
8-9 June, Location TBC Derbyshire/ Nottinghamshire
This includes e-learning to be completed prior to the face to face training and costs £250 per person including VAT.
Any bookings where 4 or more of your existing team plan to join us will be able to stay together as a team; individuals and smaller groups will be added to teams as necessary. We currently have 3 teams confirmed and space for 3 more.
Due to the short turnaround for confirming numbers for campsites, instructors and general admin, and the time commitment for participants, our bookings will close at 9pm tomorrow (Monday, 6th May). for more information or to book please visit

We're pleased to be offering 'open' expedition package for 11-12 May and 8-9 June 2024. The completion of the expedition section also includes online training. We may add additional dates for the summer holidays subject to demand and staff availability.

Why do a FREC 3 course !
Frec is not a first aid course, It's a pre hospital care course and rather than just pop a bandage on it and wait for a ambulance a FREC course will give you more tools and equipment to help you deal with the paitent as well and be part of the ambulance team. Its a great way in to the emergency services as each level is a step towards a paramedic.
FREC 3 - Events , PTS
FREC 4 - Ambulance emergency care assistant frontline
FREC 5 - Ambulance Technician
FREC 6 - not ready yet but with FREC 5 you can miss out year 1 on a Paramedic course and just do 2 years at uni.
FREC also covers NGBs as its a 5 day course and is above and beyond your basic 2 day outdoor course.

Gold team are doing well on their qualifying expedition - all in good spirits despite a drizzly finish to today and an interesting portage to camp. Well done!

Our open Gold team are doing well on their practice expedition. Starting to bond as a team and enjoying the river. All made it safely down the mighty Weir at Burton (it was just a trickle and involved some shuffling!)
