We have recently discovered a local forest school run by some lovely mums from the village. We have so much fun singing round the camp fire, making toast & baked bananas, looking for bugs, making natural paint, learning new skills & exploring the mud kitchen. We can highly recommend it!

What a scorcher ☀️🥵 This week we have been keeping cool in the garden with water play 💦 The children have really enjoyed using different containers to transport the water, using pumps & squirty bottles to build their finger muscles & mark making on the patio with chalk & water. They loved being sprayed with the hose! 🚿
Naps for the little ones have been in front of the fan & lots of stories & puzzles for the older children.
Very much looking forward to a cooler week next week!

Heading out with the kids this bank holiday? If the sun’s out where you are, slushies might be on the agenda ☀️

But it’s worth knowing that some slush drinks contain glycerol (E422), which helps create that icy texture. Younger children can be more sensitive to it, so:

⚠️ Under 7s should avoid slush drinks containing glycerol
🥤 Children aged 7–10 should have no more than one 350ml drink a day.

If you're not sure whether a slush contains glycerol, ask the seller or check the label – and if you can't find out, it's best to choose something else.
