China has launched one of the most ambitious education shifts in the world by introducing hands-on artificial intelligence lessons to students as young as six. Children entering primary school are now learning the basics of algorithms, simple robotics, and beginner friendly AI tools alongside reading and writing. This isn’t a small test run or an after school activity. It’s a nationwide effort to make AI literacy a standard skill for the next generation.

The goal behind this early start is clear. China sees intelligent technology as a major driver of its future economy, and building familiarity from childhood creates a steady stream of future innovators. While other countries are still debating how or when to introduce these subjects, China is already setting the foundation for a workforce deeply comfortable with emerging technology. It’s a reminder that the global race for tech leadership may begin far earlier than most people realize.
