I can't believe I'm saying this but I was looking at my diary and I only have 7 dates for official dyslexia assessments left for this academic year! If you have a child aged 8 - 18 who you would like assessed this year and you are in the Kent or East Sussex area, please message me ASAP to secure one of these final places for this year.

If your child is in Year 6 or anywhere between Years 9 and 13, now is the crucial time to be booking assessment in readiness for important exams.

I am a teacher of 17 years, a SENDCo for 12 years and a specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor for 5 years.

Being dyslexic doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t do something but it does mean that it may take longer or take more effort. After a whole day of effort (that you may not necessarily see) in school, please give children a chance to rest at home.

This is so very true

People with dyslexia are intelligent yet often their dyslexia masks their intelligence. At the same time, when someone is seen as intelligent, others often think they couldn’t possibly have dyslexia.
