As we learn in the bible... Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (Thessalonians 5:11) Primary School

Duxford day out! ✈️ Hawks had a day full of adventure today with our trip to Duxford Air Museum linked to our current transport unit. They enjoyed going on the Concord, looking at all of the old planes and comparing them to the original design of the Wright brothers, asking so many amazing questions and actually watching planes take off and land on the runway up close! The weather was glorious and so was the general atmosphere everywhere. Hawks represented Brington beautifully and I am so proud of them. What a fantastic end of the year for Hawks!

🏰 A Fantastic Day at Kimbolton Castle!

Today our children enjoyed a wonderful visit to Kimbolton Castle, where they celebrated the life and work of the remarkable architect SirJohn Vanbrugh while exploring an important part of our local history.

The children were an absolute credit to our school. They asked thoughtful, insightful questions and impressed everyone with their historical knowledge. It was wonderful to see them confidently jump backwards and forwards through chronology, making links between different periods of history and using their prior learning to engage in some truly in-depth conversations with the experts.

We were especially proud to hear the team at Kimbolton Castle comment on what a fantastic school Brington is and how much they had enjoyed hosting us. They praised our children’s exemplary behaviour, respect and enthusiasm throughout the day, saying they were a pleasure to work with. Feedback like this makes us incredibly proud and reflects the STAR values our children demonstrate every day.

Experiences like these bring learning to life, helping our children to develop curiosity, critical thinking and a real appreciation for the rich history on our doorstep.

Well done to all of our pupils for representing Brington so brilliantly, you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! ⭐

This afternoon we have had Playground Proms come for a visit. The Graffiti Classics quartet played an amazing set for the whole school, all of the children got involved and had a fantastic time clapping and singing along. Everyone absolutely loved it and at the end everyone put up their hand when asked ‘Who thinks classical music isn’t so bad after all’! I think we might have to play Classical FM more often! 🎻

🎣 A fantastic Fishing Workshop today!

Our children enjoyed learning about pollution, protecting our waterways, and staying safe around water, including the dangers of cold water shock and swimming in open water after the recent heatwave.

They asked some brilliant questions and loved taking part in the fun fishing activities. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent behaviour throughout the day!

Today, the current Receptions and Year 1’s had a play village in for their transition morning! Playing together makes such a strong foundation for building friendships, trust and happiness. They all had a fantastic time together playing in the vets, doctors, post office, shop and cafe. Miss Smith and Mrs Harris even had a lovely pamper at the salon! What a fun filled morning for the future Hawks class! 😊

Eagles had a brilliant first night away! 🌙

We’ve had bedtime chats, endless giggles, games, hot chocolates and lots of excitement before finally settling down for sleep.

All children slept really well… although when it went particularly quiet in one of the Year 6 boys’ rooms, I discovered there was no need to worry they had simply set up their very own hair salon and were busy trying out some “interesting” new hairstyles on each other!

This morning everyone enjoyed a yummy breakfast and are now out making the most of today’s activities and adventures!

Eagles Class have kicked off their residential trip in style today with a full-on afternoon of activities! 🌊🏕️

There were lots of laughs as we squeezed into wetsuits (which seemed determined to fight back 🤣) and took to the water. A few accidental slips, splashes and unexpected swims may have happened… although some children seemed to spend more time falling in than staying upright! 😅

The children have shown brilliant teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm all day and are already making amazing memories. We’re very proud of them all even the ones who discovered just how cold the water is firsthand! 💦🦅

More adventures to come tomorrow!
